I would like to try one of these Vari Flows (http://www.startinglineproducts.com/Polaris_Catalog/variflow.html) by Holtzman.... anyone install one before? The operating principle seems simple enough but the directions are not the best. They are located here. (http://www.startinglineproducts.com/instsheet/14-235.pdf) Any input is appreciated.

I use one on my modded Mach Z and find that it works very well, best if you establish a temp range for each click position by testing and checking wash then you always know what to set it at.

A buddy of mine has a vari-flow on his zr700 and loves it. He will be installing egt's so he can better dial it in. I have a tempa-flow on my zrt800 and love it (just set it and forget it).

I installed my first vari-flow in '99 on my '98 RMK. The install was pretty straightforward. I also took Barry's reduction chart and made a jetting chart of what the positions on the dial meant in jet sizes from the 0 position down to the last. I also included the ranges for the multi range inserts. I ran it that way until two winters ago, then I installed EGT's on the sled. I found that my calculations were right on but I was either fat or lean on the midrange. After corrections with needles and pilots the sled really rocked. After last year I sold my 700 motor with the vari-flow. Last summer I installed an Atacc on my 800 trail mod along with the EGT from the RMK. Same principle except in compensates for both temp and altitude. Works great on that sled also. By watching EGT's you know when to drop or raise needles. Holtzman products really rock and Barry is one of the nicest people to deal with. His products are worth every penny he gets for them. If anyone has any questions about installation for the vari-flow or atacc feal free to e-mail or PM me.
