Has anyone repacked/rebuild their stingers? I have a set of RPC Racing stingers for my 95 zrt800 and want to repack/rebuild them. Apperntly I can drill out 6 rivets and pull out the inner sleeves and wrap them with high temp insulation and reinstall. I was wonder if there are different types of high temp insulation or some other material to use and what the cost of the material would be.

Not sure about repacking snowmobile stingers but for atv/dirtbike exhaust, you use a high temp fiberglass, that can normally be bought from the manufacturer of the pipe. It cost about $15-$20 canadaian, for a package. Hope that helps some

I'm with phat_cat800....
Get some Moose packing or other name brand for bikes. Don't pack it too tightly, or it will be loud -- just wrap it up snugly.
In a pinch, you can use fiberglass house insulation, but it won't last nearly as long as the proper stuff.
Good luck!
