It all depends what your looking for. Mapping, just finding location, or anything else. There's a neat one out from Garmin, the Rhino. Its a 2 way radio/GPS where you can use it like a normal GPS and be able to talk to your buddies and tell where they are at the same time.

SD-SleadHead is right on, the new Garmin .... The rhino is the best of both worlds. The radios have pretty impressive range too. Around here there is a lot of ledge but we can still get about 3 miles range with them.

Im not sure what you mean, I have a Garmin 12 and the face plate is similar to that, there is just a lot more memory to store places. You have the ability to keep track of total distance, avg speed. max speed, couple other features ..... hope this helps

I think you will find EVERYONE with a Garmin Legend (including myself) really loves the unit - for the price you can not beat it.

Has mapping and uploading/downloading capabilities.

Great unit for Boating, Sledding, Hunting, Ice Fishing and ATV's.

If you're looking for the best I'd say the new garmin gpsmap 60c is a contender. I picked it up as soon as it was available and haven't regreted it. The color screen is awesome and battery life is better than I expected.
