First of all. I do not consider any number from Old Forge.. For the numbers from the old "Hot sled shootout" where all sleds were picked at random by someone other than the dealer, then uncrated onsite, everyone shared the same fuel etc,etc..

They ran on grass at Bieda's in Fenwick Ont. One of the best tracks around
They stopped haveing them a few years ago.

Here are the numbers for 2000 Mach Z

1/4 mile Stock Box run 11.7 @ 102 MPH
Best Dealer run 11.5 @ 105 MPH

Still think the ZR 900 twin is fast? :D

Ah Homer.. they did not make the ZR 900 in 2000 :D The Stock ZR 900 has run about 12 secs. or a little under in any test I have seen for a 1/4 mile..

They did test the ZRT 800 AND the Thunder chicken 1000.

Here is the test info.

Ya, and a year later the first year 800 twins were pulling 11.3's and the mach was running 3-4 tenths behind. Still think the mach-z is king? :p

Yes the OLD Mach Z still rules.. Mach 1 ran a 12.6 @ 96.59 at the 99 shout out.

first i aint no homer, and second since zr9s came out in 03 then u have no idea what one would of ran that same day the machz ran the 11.7, i know the mach z was fast but the zr9 ran the fastest time ever at the shootouts, and theres no doubt the mach would likly beat the zr in top end but drag races aint top end runs. hell ive got a zr8 and ive beaten machzs from take off to finish, so its all in setup, but ive herd a lot of doo riders, this year especally, say that the shootout is nothing but crap. but if doo would of made a good showing then we wouldnt be hearing that, maybe doo had a bad mechanic there setting things up and cat had a good one, maybe next year things will be reversed, but as i said before, its in the setup, and doo makes a fine product, have had some problems but what manufacturer dont. so happy sleddin everyone

Never saw any 11.3's at any stock sled shootouts.. Post the info. please.
I don't see any 800 twins in prostock winning either..

Bottom line..
The guy asked what the mach Z ran stock.. Answer= faster than any sled tested that day and faster than the ZR 900 last year and this year..

And for all out performance YES I still think the Mach Z's, XCR's and any triple will always out perform a twin of equal size..

I repent!.. I forgot about the ZX Doo winning that shootout and at the grass drags the next 2 years.. I saw the 01 Prototype at Bieda's when I ordered my Mach during spring break.. No snow so I did not get to ride it..

The 800 twin would have won by 3 sled lenghts.. Traction is the biggest issue with the Mach.. And they are geared to run 120's.. I have beat every ZX 800 I raced.. Will have to see how the HO's run against me.. Have one lined up that's owned by a mechanic at the local Doo shop.. I will post results win or lose..

Also my friend has a place to test with radar with the owner of Lenco who has a moded ZR 800 that beats ZR 900's.. He hit 100mph that last time they tested.. He also has an old but mint ZR 700 built that I saw beat every F7 he raced in grass drags in 660'

He wants me to bring the Mach to see what it will do..I will post my speeds compared to his ZR 8 if he runs the same day.
