I`m thinking about buying 96 xlt and it`s missing all three carburetors. could someone tell me which carbs came syock on these sleds? I beleive the motor is a 597. also, even if 34`s were not what came on the sled, would they still work, and
what kind of jetting would have to be done to the 34`s?

even though this is my first post, I`ve learned a lot from this site.
you guys (& gals) are a great bunch of people :)
oh, and ah, keep doin that snow dance!

some models had 38 and some had the 34.i no the xcr600 had 38.supposedly gave 2 more hosepower than 34.they have them on ebay quite often.i bought a spare set of 38s with all the cables, like a 100.00 bucks.

The SP had 38s the regular XLT had 34s. I had a 96 XLT SP back in 96 it was a nice sled. The SP had extra 12, bigger carbs higher compression and different porting then the regular XLT.

I know a guy who changed his 38s out for 34s. He did it because he felt it was over carbed. Anyhow he was happy. I don't know what he did for jetting.
