Is it okay to mix different brands of synthetic oil such as amsoil & amsoil interceptor? Or any other brand of synthetic? Should I let the level get low before I add a diferent brand?

Now Im sure everybody will have something to say bout this subject but I would recommend that you do NOT mix different brands of SYN oil. Drain tank till removed then add new oil.

Again, just my opinion....

Let it snow let it snow....

Gootch is right, everyone will have something to say.

I say, don't worry about it. Mixing good quality synthetics won't be a problem. I wouldn't do it every tank, but if you get stuck, or are switching brands, it won't be a problem

It doesn't matter. If an oil is TCW-3 Rated, then it will blend with all other TCW-3 oils out there. It's part of the specification that the oil has to pass to get that rating.

That's an old wive's tail that oils don't mix. If you are really concerned, take a empty clean clear pop bottle, fill it up with a mix of the oils you are proposing to mix, shake them up, freeze them, etc. They will mix perfectly. Sometimes certain kinds will float on top of each other, but there's no problem with coagulating or anything.

At least any oil I have seen in the last 10-15 years.

I have run pretty much any oil in my sled, sometimes hard to get your brand in the middle of nowhere at a bar or restaurant, and they only have two bottles of oil there. I usually only buy a quart, and then put just what I need in the tank to make it home. Then re-fill with whatever happens to be my favorite oil (Klotz is current favorite).

As long as it's up to specs, and it's available to buy at a decent price, I say go ahead and put it in your sled. I just would avoid any type of oil that isn't certified, isn't a "name" brand, or looks older than dirt.

It says right on the AMSOIL packaging that you can mix AMSOIL with other oils but for best results don't mix.

I avoid mixing but if it was between mixing or not riding I would not hesitate to mix.

I've mixed Amsoil in the reservoir w/ Castrol, Bombi dino, XPS & XPS II over the years no problems other than the complaints about the stink from the XPS.
