Just got back from a tour to the north shore. Some of the best trails I have ever ridden. Left quebec Inn last friday morning and got as far as Havre St. Pierre. At this point the trails are really not taken very good care of. Signage is also a small problem. There is a section of trail about 40kms east of Havre St. Pierre up to Natasquan that is not passable. I would highly recommend having someone who speaks good french since english is hardly even recognized up there.
Back to the trails. There is a section between Baie Comeau and Godbout that simply must be ridden. Also the trails up to and a little beyond Sept-Isles are comparable to Northern Ontario. Super wide and incredibly smooth. Wow. Once you get past Riviere do Tonnere the landscape changes to flat and almost tundra like. At times you are riding along the st. lawrence river and its almost as if you are riding along the ocean. Any way in total we put on 1970 miles in 7 and a half days. Since we had planned to go all the way to the end and weren't able to we back tracked to Mont Valin and Lac St. Jean, and back down to the Quebec Inn.
Has anyone made the trip up to Viex Port? I would like to here your comments on that section of trail.

P.S. No sled problems except one blown belt on a rather long straight section. :D
