I've been using a Magellin but thinking about switching to an Etrex because of the number of tracks you can save.

Will the Etrex display the road name in a window when you are on it. The Magellin does and I am hoping the Garmin does too. I find it useful when on a trail and knowing what the road intersection is at stop signs. I havn't DL any maps to the Garmin yet, so maybe that will do it.

I don't recall that it will do this.. IMO the Magellen is a better GPS but it has two major downfalls! First you can only have 1 track (the active track) vs. the Garmin can have at least 10 and more on some models. The other thing is the abilitiy to create and upload custom maps using GPSMapper/GPSMapEdit.

Yeah, the multi track option is really my only reason to switch.

I am not sure if any particular mapset for the Garmins will do this, but the Mapsource Enhanced Basemap and Roads & Recreation set does not.
