Has anyone heard of any problems with the new secondary clutches on the 04 sleds? My neighbor has a T660 1up and we have been noticing a vibration in the sled for some time that has been getting worse. We have had the clutches apart and checked everything out and it all looked ok. We then tried a secondary from an older sled and the vibration went away. The dealer ordered a new secondary and it arrives today. Hopefully this will fix it up. Just wondering if anyone else has found a similar problem with the 04 secondarys?
BTW: He now has 3500 miles on the turbo. Really likes it except for the weight...does not work well for playing in the fresh powder. Strictly a trail sled.

Funny, we were just talking in another posting about how good these were. Make sure you let us know how you make out.

I can't say I have heard of it before. Have only a little over 700 miles on my stepdads Turbo Touring but no vibrations. I have heard about the screws coming loose on the secondary but they are still tight so far. Interested in hearing what the outcome is and what caused the original secondary to vibrate.

A buddies 04 F6 was doing the same thing. Dealer told him to Take out one of the shims in the secondary. They said alot of 04's were having this problem and by removing one of the shims it should cure it. And it did. :D

Well, put on the new secondary and the vibration went away. The dealer needed the old clutch to send back to Cat. They did not make any recommendation about changing the # of shims.
They have also ordered him a new track. The "new" track on the sled with the raised bumps on the inside of the track where the rear idlers run are cracking between each bump.

Are they putting that track on under warranty? Usually they blame track problems on useage, especially with 3500 miles on it.
