Dont have any experience with them on sleds but run them on my ATV's. They flow much better then foam filters even with an outerwear, which is recomened. The key to K&N's filtration is the oil, to little or to much and it wont protect as well. Though I can tell you if you do go with them on your sled you will have alot more intake noise then an airbox.

They require a lot of jetting work. They are very sensitive to temperature changes also.

if you are looking for one to increase pwoer try this: pull all airbox restrictions off of your engine or run it without the current filter. feel all that extra power? didn't think so....and thats with less restriction than the "high flowing" k&n

I ran them on my '86 Formula Plus after having the motor totally rebuilt. Ski-doo's suggestion was to run 5 sizes up on the main. I ran 2 sizes up for 2yrs after with no problems.

The reason I changed was because I was sick of wrestling with the airbox all the time.

There was never an issue of snow ingestion. I did not oil the filters. This might be more necessary on an ATV. My riding was strctly on groomed trails and I usually led the group.
