Does anyone have one? I'm dying to know what they're like. I'm looking at buying one next year. How are they in different conditions? Trail, deep snow, lake, off trail etc. How do the engines compare (500 fan, 600 H.O. LC) Reliability? Suspension? Power? Durability?

Thanks for any replies.

Ad Boivin came to moosehead a few weeks ago and were giving free demo rides on them. The 600ho has like 115hp and the 500 only has like 65. Char700tried one out. They run a dual runner skit like the revs do. Deep lug track. They are mostly a powder sled and they are not real good on hard pack or lakes. We watched one guy dump it.i dunno much more i know i didnt try it cause i cant ride a dirt bike if i had to so i knew it would be best if i stayed off it.

Snowtrax television show did a good piece on one last week. They look like a real rocket with that 600.

There was one down at are local watering hole a while back. The rider compared it to a Jet ski !! when it comes time to turn on the trails , you have to lean big time. Oh and it was about -8c out but man did he look cold lol he just said look it over all you want and ran inside to warm up lol

From what I hear they aren't tippy, because of the rotating mass stabilizes it (gyroscopic affect). Just like riding a bike or motocross I guess

Yeah, I think they mentioned the cold part on Snowtrax. I guess you have to rely on adrenalin to keep you warm!

I think you would have to be a dirtbiker to really appreciate the Hawk. The HARDER you ride the WARMER you are - I have ridden my KX thru MANY Michigan winters (NO SNOW!!) and can verify this first hand.. Snowmobiles are no where near as arobic!

Ride dirt bikes and live where there are hills and big bumps not flat land like where I live.

Id like to try out one of the hawks, i mean i would think it would be like riding my dirtbike. (now if i could just find a way to run the sled yr around) do they make a full size sled wheel kit for the big Z's? LoL

To bad you don't live closer to Boise Drift_Jockey :( I just checked the online classified snowmobile section and one of the local dealers, or someone anyway, is having a 3-hour demo. Where exactly? I don't know. But the best snow is about 3 hours away. I just ran across the add a few minutes ago, so I'm not sure of the exact details. However, the add reads as follows:

"YOU'VE HEARD ABOUT THEM, You've seen them, now come ride one. Snowhawk demo, Sat. April 3, 11-2. For more details call 343-2830"

Unfortunately, I probably will not be able to go :(

EDIT:

Well, I just "traced" the number. Sure enough, comes back to High Mark recreation out of Boise, the only SnowHawk dealer in town that I know of. I was in there about 2 months ago looking at these things. Pretty "nifty". Thing is, I don't see any info on their website about the demo, just in the classifieds :hallo1:
