I want to tighten my studs, cause I think they have loosened off a little when I ride I feel a little vibration from the track, they have been on for a couple of years and the nuts are a little rusted. I have tightened a few but have found that I am stripping the allen key hole on the back of the stud. Is there anyway to prevent this? what can I do? Any help is greatly appreciated.

not sure. maybe heat them up a bit, or get a set of vice-grips on the end of the stud and use a wrench.... :huh:

Yeah I've tightened a couple by locking a set of vise-grips on the end of the stud and using a wrench. This is alright for a couple studs but would take a long time to get them all.

If you are stripping the allen key hole, then you are trying too hard!!!! :ohmy:

I usually stop once I see the backer squish the track enough. I do not even bottom them out.
