Well, as some of you guys on this Forum know I am the proud owner of (3) gal's of Arctic Blue oil that I bought at Fleet Farm for $9.99 a gal. I was asked to keep you guys updated on how this oil would performe as to the APV system. Since then I have driven the sled 567 miles and noticed that the sled ("01" ZR800) is not performing as it use to. So of course I checked the AP valves (took around 15 min.) and I am pleased to report they are as free as a bird, as loose as a goose, you know what I mean. To check this oil out I also ran the sled at a stedy 100 mph for (10) miles with no problems. I did develope a brown colored bellypan behind the muffler outlet though. How do you get that off? To find the perf. drop off I went right for the clutches. When I removed the driven cl. I found that the jackshaft bearing next to the *driven cl. had seized and ground a groove around the jackshaft. I also found that the muffler outlet had been bent over closing off about 40% of the exhaust pipe. We had to jump over a few downed trees in the woods. I realize that 567 miles is not a lot of miles (2049 total) on this oil but so far so good.

The easiet fix i found for the exhaust on the *green belly is to paint the area black. Tape it off to yer liking and spray away.

How's that Arctic Blue oil working for you? *Did you get the synthetic or the synthetic blend?
I was thinking of using it myself. Looks like it would do the job.
Let us know how the valves look.
Thanks

Well, so far so good. I bought the synthetic blend for $9.99 a gal. Just bought another gal. on sale for $8.99. I haven't done any riding since the last trip. No snow. I will keep you guy's posted on the results.
