Well now that all the 2005 sleds have been released what will everyone be doing and anyone changing brands? With Cat releasing the new 'M' mountain sleds and only doing minor updates to the rest, Ski-Doo bringing out the mighty MachZ 1000 and 800SDI engines, Polaris dropping the whole Pro-x series leaving a gap between the XCSP's and new Fusion 900, and lastly Yamaha going with all 4-strokes and a new 600cc class 4-banger. If you are planning on switching colors state below what from, too and why SWRules .

If I decide to buy a new sled next fall it'll be a Cat  .

I was pretty excited about the new M-series, but if the rumours about it not being available with reverse are true, I don't want it.
Anyway, I'm pretty happy with the SKS. It does everything well, is really comfortable and has been pretty good to me, with one notable exception, and it's still got a year left on the warrenty.
I'm thinking I'll put a pipe on it next year, and I''m going to studd it.

I'm still dying to see a Renagade in action, and not just on the trail. It does seem like it would be a good sled for the kind of riding I like to do. I just don't trust it off-trail, and won't until I can see what it can do.

Well if I could trade I would have a black M7 141 on order but with the price of new sleds going up this year and the low trade in values it won't happen this year. Instead I will be putting a 144X1.75 setup on my firecat and maybe a new windshield.

I can't honestly say, I finally took out a Fcat for a run (F6 Snopro) and it was a blast to drive, but I didn't like the seating position as well as my ZR. I had a 660 Turbo out the same day and I must say that I was really impressed but I found it a little too heavy on the front end.
I think I would like to pick up a low mile 2003 ZR900 if I can find one, I am also considering a Rev, maybe a Renegade.

Just bought a new sled a few weeks ago. Took a bashing as it was with my trade, so I'm going to have to ride what I got for awhile. But I'm certainly not upset about that. I desire to try the new rear suspension though.

I'm currently riding a 03 pro-x 700 with 3500 miles on it and was hoping to get a new 05 pro-x but since there isn't one available I have three ideas in my head
1-ride it for another year:problem with that is it will have well over 5000 miles at the end of next season.
2-buy a left over 04 pro-x 700 if able to find one
3-buy a ski-doo mx-zx 600 h.o (05)

for sale 2000 xc700sp/3400miles mint $4000.00can
for sale 2003 pro-x 700/3500miles mint $7000.00can

There are tons of leftover 04 pro x around, don't worry about not being able to find one. Although you probably want to get one early, may be others with same idea.

Depending on rider ability. if both riders are equal the renagade will not be able to hang with your SKS in the deep stuff. all of the reviews and articles that were written this year all said that the SKS is the donimant sled by far in the deep powder. I also Ride with a guy that has a renagade 600 ho and he finds it slugish and ax all the articles say It can't keep with my SKS off trail in the powder.
some quotes from a test article.
" the switchback is hands-down the most capable crossover sled in deep snow."

"the SKS is a better deep snow rocket than any others tested here" ( sleds tested were SKS , Renagade, RX1 warrior, and F6 ext 144

"based on our experiance the switchback will dominate the others in any situation where the snow is deep"

Well after riding this season, I realized it's time to long track the current ride. I'm just upgrading the '99 to a longtrack.......medium sized  I got a 136"x2" camoplast with rail extensions and 8 tooth drivers. Tracksusa has a closeout on the tracks, and I got it this week and it is currently sitting in the garage waiting to get installed this summer. For $280 I couldn't pass it up. I don't think I'll be getting stuck as much next year  Well, let's hope not

The wife and I are staying with our current rides. Just don't put on enough kilometers to justify the change. If I won the lottery, it would be a GSX 600SDI and a Yamaha Vector for us!

Yeah here too. I was contemplating on wether to trade my 500ss in on a 05 600H.O sdi. But ive decided to keep it cause im runnin right with everybody most of the time.
But im gonna put alittle money into it and give er alittle makeover, with some V-Force Reeds straightline performance clutch kit and about 144 studs so it should make a big difference compared to this yr.

There were 3 sleds that I was thinking about buying for next season.

A. MachZ
B. ZR900
C. MXZX 600 SDI

After I came to my senses,I ordered a MXZX 600 SDI in black w/ el. start.

It will be hard to hop off my ZX for good though. :(

Just got my 800 at the end of the season, so I'm staying with this for a while. If I could have any new sled, it would be a Rev X package chassis, with a F7 motor bored to 900cc's  .

I'm sticking with my 04 gade x 600 sdi, great sled. As far as a gade not being as capable in the deep stuff, that is true if you go with the 1.25" track. But there is a night and day difference between running that and opting out for the 1.75".
My bro has 1.25" and I have the 1.75" and he kicked himself in the ### all winter for not getting that sneaker.
But honestly I would like if bomb made a fully coupled 144" gade. The summit mountain suspention has too much weight transfer for trail riding.
They should have two gades one with 136 and another extreme gade that has 144" and give you differen't options for lug heights.
Hmmmmm maybe i will send Bomb an Email

They've done that for the 05 Gades. I'm getting the 1.25 lug on the 16" wide track but a 1.75 is an option. The they say the 16X136" will give you the same foot print as a 144" track. I rode with some 144" guys and they did have the advantage off trail.

I've ordered the 05 Gade 600 SDI. Traded my 04 600 Gade non SDI. Had an 03 800 REV with a 136X1.5" lug but the track noise on the trail made it sound like a 4X4 with mudder tires going down the street and you could feel the vibes through the handle bars. I doo 50/50 on/off trail riding so I'll stick with the 1.25 lug.

my little 440 will be sitting in my garage for atleast 1 more season. sled is too unbelievable to sell. one thing i want to do is maybe find a wrecked 800 ho, or 600 ho sdi rev and then swap out the bigger motor into my 440 chassis. nothing can top this chassis and suspension, but fuel economy is absolutely disgusting. :cussing: i'm looking for a little better than the 50 miles i get to my 40 litre tank. anyone know anyone who wrecked a rev and wants to get rid of it cheap??!!

For Me, I'm staying with the same brand but ordered a 05 X-package Renegade 600 SDI with the 1.75 track. I also took the 2-year warranty and the e-start. :inlove:

switched brands from ski-doo to cat manly becouse my local skidoo dealr would only give me $1800 trade in for my old sled where as the cat dealer (who is a good friend) gave me $2600 for it so i went with the 2005 f7 black widow sno-pro hope i will enjoy my first cat cant wait till the snow falls again

what kind of track is that 1.5" x136", my 1.75" isn't any louder or more vibration then a gade with 1.25", they've done lots too improve the higher lug tracks to make them more trail friendly.
Oh yeah I forgot about the 16" wide track on the gades next year, Maybe I will see how much too trade for one. My track with 5100km's is still in excellent shape.

Well I have had '05 taken care of 2 months ago  , and have put on about 389 miles on the new sled. Now I have to wait and see what is in store for '06 :D . I have rode in allot of powder trying the 1.25" x 16" and its not really that impressive, actually it really sucks :slick: . I plan on putting the 1.75" x 16" on for next year, and like kenny said that 1.75" is going to be a big difference.
