Already done here unless we get a serious dump in march, went for a short ride on tuesday and broke through the ice on the river here. Was going to go to cadillac to ride but temps are into the upper 40's and prob going to hit 50 tommorrow dont feel like burning down a motor for one last ride.

We're on meltdown here too :( ... went for a quick run to the store this morning and there are bare spots everywhere. Looks like this is it for the season. A disappointing total of 500 miles this year. Hopefully next year will bring the same amount or more snow tho, and the sled gods will keep me out of the shop moreso.

Cheers.

It has been warm here too. We lost alot of snow. But if it gets cold again next week it won't take very much snow to make it rideable again. One thing I know from living here, winter is not done yet. Even if we don't much more snow, it will at least get very cold again. We normally get a couple huge storms in March.

Yeah it looks like this may be our last weekend for riding around here too. If we get anymore warm days the trails are just going to be to bare and have to be very picky on where you go. Heres a picture of on of the trails we had to ride on today, was like this for 5-10 miles where they had the roads plowed :cussing:

It's weird to hear people say that the snowmobiling year is over. I'm from Nova Scotia and we jusy got hit by two major storms. Halifax declared a state of emergency. It's been over a week now and clean up isnt even half done, and thats in Halifax, the warm part of the province. I live in the Cape Breton Highlands and we've got incredoable snow, more than the last 15 years. i got pictures of a DOT snowblower(think Peterbuilt with a 5 auger snowblower) trying to break the road through a 40 foot drift. My small town of Pleasant Bay has been cut off from everything for the last 3 days. Luckily they opened the mountain today and the seniors could make it to the pharmcy. Free Guided tours if anyone wants to come here....its a little out of the way

We're still hoping for more rides as well.

Last year March 3rd was the coldest day of the whole winter. We got a whole lot of snow then too which enabled us to ride from home right to the end of March break. We then got rain and the trails deteriated quickly.

I had our trails marked open but the warm temps this weekend may close them. If people stay off of the soft base, then we'll be good to go with just a few inches of fresh snow.

Currently hoping that we'll be able to ride the Durham region next weekend followed by a whole week in Port Elgin right after that.

Keep doing the snow dance everyone. We can't give up yet.

Jeff

:D :D :D

Still got snow here, but it's fading fast. Lots of ice to run around on, but have to stay on the packed areas as the slush is brutal.

We did a loop yesterday to Hillsdale, Coldwater and back through Midland. Trails are deteriorating tremendously. There were lots of grassy, muddy, slushy patches on the railbeds and especially on the trails themselves around Coldwater. The bay is still in good shape though. We're hoping to do a good run up the bay to Giant's Tomb today. I think that tonight I may go outside and do a nekkid snow dance. If it doesn't bring snow, it may at least entertain the neighbours :p

I think my season is done for this year. I was planning a trip to East Jordan Mi, NW of Gaylord about 40 miles but don't want to run a new sled on dirt. . I had many problem this year as I did last year to, so I was only able to put about 400 miles on the new gade. I'm already thinking about all the trips I want to do for next year including the Sw ride :D SWRules . I'm also looking at all my catalogs to see what I want to put on my sled :p . Well if we do get a major snow storm then I will get lucky and do some more riding but until then the sled is going to the dealer for its early 500 miles check up. Who knows I might just fix up my other sled a MXZ 600 ZX which is blown up, will keep me busy and my mind off snow for a little bit anyway. Well for those who do have snow keep riding while you can, and for us I guess just keep dancing and hoping.

I keep looking at my pics from last ride and see all the snow and then look out side and then it makes me P***ed off
This is a pic of the New 05 Limited Edition gade, rides great and the SDI I cant say enough about it. I also love the 16" track but sone times it don't help

You cant give up yet, your only a few miles south of me and I plan on getting 2-3 more weekends in, the northern U.P. is only 2-3 hours past gaylord. Last year the best ride of the season was the second weekend in April, two feet of fresh snow and know one around. :inlove:
