I was wondering what gutting the sir box does to the sled. I am thinking of putting K&N air filters on my sled this summer. What would be best???
Gutting Airbox Or K&n Filters92Indy440 02-28-2004, 09:53 PM I was wondering what gutting the sir box does to the sled. I am thinking of putting K&N air filters on my sled this summer. What would be best??? Green4Life 02-28-2004, 10:41 PM i put k&n,s on my sled last summer and rode all this year with em with no problems, all i needed to do was just go up 3 main jet sizes. I like them, alot more room in the engine compartment. The bad thing is there is more intake noise but it doenst bother me 2 much i am used to it. As far as performance wise goes i dont really think it gave me a hp increase that i coudl feel. It makes it alot easier to get to the carbs tho! CORY9 02-28-2004, 11:47 PM Personally, just find them too noisy. Make sure you get the jetting right, or the consequences are severe. Plus your engine is now sucking all that "HOT" underhood air  I shouldn't say anything, I have thrown a lot more money than that out the window. puree 02-29-2004, 01:39 PM the filter will give you more protection than the airbox did,,,, just make sure your jetting is right | |
