im trying to get more speed out of my sled my sled stock it 117hp from what i read about it i have been adding on to it for the last 2 years and it should be 130hp now i added a CLUTCH KIT from cudney racing and its great , my brother got a new 2004 800 xc and we were the same speed on a 1000 ft untill i added a new clutch spring and weights to his sled also from cudney racing and after that i could not touch him so now i have added the clutch weights from his sled 10-64 and now i can stay with him for the first 100 or 150 ft im turning 7800 to 8000 in the 1000 ft but on a longer run the rpms fall to 7600 to 7700 can i fix this with out changing the clutch weights to get my rpm back up to 7900 where my max hp is from what i read please help

brock i forgot to put this in my first message befor i started working on my sled with the 10-64 clutch weights i beat a stock 2003 RX1 so i dont think cudney racing was not to far off on there clutch kit for a 700 xc

Wow i have a 2000 700xc , what all do you have done to it to even keep up with a 04 800. A non ves 700 hanging with a ves 800 is hard to imagine, even with major mods done. What is your setup?

A little more secondary pressure should help your RPMs from falling off. But it will also slow your upshift a little. Its all tradeoffs!

There are so many factors in this type of comparison it's not fair. Traction, jetting, clutching ect... If a stock 700 beat my 800 I'd be tee'd off. 100cc more means more power speed ect... Something is WRONG with the 800's if a 700 is beating it, it might stay with it for while but that is the traction issue. shane

shanek62 the setup that i have is what i said on the top of the post i have a cudney racing clutch kit, v-force3 reeds, boost bottle, 2 tpi valves in the airbox, i think thats everything and now i put the clutch weights from my brothers 2004 800xc in my sled they are 10-64 and when u do that u need to move the spring up to the first hole in the helix to get your rpm back up to 7900 , and i went down to 185-190 main jets and dropped the needles one clip thats everything and to get the sled to hook up take out the blocks at the back of slides im not shure whats its called but its the one that stops the transfer
