I have a 2001 600 efi, I hit a stump and lost all my coolant out the bottom.
The skid plate stops right at the beginning of the bulkhead where the front heat exchanger is located. Can I weld up the rip in the seam or are there internal cores like a car radiator?

depends on how ripped up it is, if there is just a little hole then welding should be ok, but if its ripped up pretty bad change it
First try to repair it. *They are not easy too change!
If fact they are down right hard to change, The front rad is a part of the frame. *There are 112 steel rivets that hold the frame to the body. *I have heard of people welding in a new rad, could be done, but would not be easy.

Thanks for the feedback!
The Heat Exchanger is part of the bulkhead on this cat.
Its 500 bucks they say. I am going to have it welded before i tackle the alternative. I was able to reroute my lines and run fine when its cold out but too warm now.
Have a good one!
