the points will finish being calculated tonight. I will send them and a small write up in hopes that the whole thing will be published in Snow week. This should be completed no later than saturday evening.

I am still narrowing down the date for the awards banquet. Waiting for lead times for the awards and jackets to be completed so i know when to schedule it. I am meeting with Jeff at Pro Kart on Sunday to see how that location will suit our needs.

I was wondering if there was a minimum weight restriction in all classes, for combined driver and sled, like in drags? And were weights taken after the machines made these World Record runs.?

Sharkey,

Yes, there is a minimum wt requirement for all classes. For the Stock classes it is the wt. filed by the manufacturer to ISR + 18lbs for studs and fuel/oil + 175lbs for the driver.

In the Improved stock classes there is a set wt. for all manufacturers to make the competition as fair as possible. The wts. are adjusted for cc's and if the machine is a twin or triple/quad engine. These wts. are combined wts with the driver wt figured in.

Super stock wt has to meet or exceed .80lbs per cc and super stock twin has to meet or exceed .75lbs per cc.

Prostock has a combined wt. similar to Improved stock, just substantially lower.

The mod classes have to meet wts. depending on the size of the machine.

Super mod and exhibition classes have a minimum wt of 300lbs and the driver must be at least 175lbs or else ballast has to be added to the machine. Fuel cannot be used as ballast in these classes. The wt must be bolted on and be removable. It cannot be a structural part of the chassis.

All machines must pass over the scale (INTERCOMP) after each pass to verify that they meet wt. for there respective class. if a driver does not weigh in, they forfeit the run, making the run null & void.

All machines setting a world record are subject to a complete engine teardown where ports are measured, cumbustion chambers volumes are measured as well as many other inspections. Fuel is also checked for illegal addatives with a d/c fuel meter and ceric acid, the fuel is then sent to a independent laboratory for further testing with a spectrograph.

If you have any further questions, let me know.

thanks for the questions.

Thanks! I sold my sled to someone in Wisconsin and he is close to the record for 800 triple, his personal weight is 210, so that hold him back 2-3 mph. But he is closer than that to the records on the stock 97 Mach Z. If he can get a lighter driver he may have clinched it.
