: Mbrp On F7 Efi
phat_cat800 03-09-2004, 02:13 PM My brother is looking at getting a MBRP can for his 2003 F7 EFI. He will be getting the 'Trail" version since the 'Race' on is way to loud. It seems these cans perform differently on different sleds and some cause a loss of power. Did you notice any power loss? How is the sound and how much louder then stock? All I have heard is the race one on my dealers F7 and it was much louder then my ZRT with one. If you are running another kind, then what kind is it, hows it sound and work?
Thanks
BTW - I dont want to see any post that we are causing loss of trails and that it looks bad on the sport. Noise isn't an issue where we ride and probably have the sleds you meet on the trail will have an aftermarket can.
Little green sixer 03-09-2004, 06:42 PM I don't know about NB but here in On the cops are starting to buckle down on after market cans. I was stopped for speeding and the cop was a real dink he was asking about the pipes on my sled. And I have a quiet can on mine. He told me that they are probably legal in the states but not here in Canada. This is the first I have had problems with them regarding cans. Maybe he was just pissed that I was speeding and more than likely pissed cause I have a nicer sled than him. BTW I have D&D on my sled and they are good my buddies say that it sounds like a pissed off bee, when I am pinnin it.
phat_cat800 03-09-2004, 07:42 PM Nope I've never been questioned about my sled and rode through a couple trail side stops the cops had set up.
Little green sixer 03-09-2004, 09:18 PM Lucky you. Like I said they were probably pissed that I was speeding :p

Not lucky me, just poor you  , we dont even have any speed limits here in NB.

puree 03-10-2004, 11:58 AM Scott, I dont have a can on mine, but I do have the recording of what it sounds like,,,, if that makes sense,,,
I have it in a media player file and I have tried everything possible to get it on here but have not found a way to attach the file,,,,
I have 3 different ones,,, all from Dan at the outdoor shop. If your interested in hearing them and can tell me how to put them on here,,, I would be more than happy to do it
Brian
phat_cat800 03-10-2004, 12:35 PM That'd be great Brian. If you can't get them posted on here (I have no idea how) just email them to me at scottm126@hotmail.com, Thanks
puree 03-10-2004, 01:02 PM when I try to attach a file and find them, I cant find them anywhere in the computer,,,,they are on a play list that I have in my media player,,, ,I tried to move the file to my picture page, then I knew I could transfer that onto here, but I cant even get that to happen,,, I will keep trying, but if there are any computer gurus,,,or your dad Scott, that can offer assistance, please do
phat_cat800 03-10-2004, 01:12 PM Hmmm...For all of my music files I have them in a separate file and they all show up when if I was to add them as an attachment . Make sure that when you click on the "browse" button (to find the attachment) that at the very bottom of the little screen you will see "Files of type" and that you have selected "All Files".
If you go into My Computer can you find them or the file it is in?
puree 03-10-2004, 01:18 PM I may have got it,,,let me know
Brian
pwdrspcl 03-10-2004, 04:43 PM Don't really know how much this applies but I put one on my 2000, powder special 600 efi. I got the race version because they didn't have any trail versions. I noticed that it had a little more on the top end I was able to keep up and sometimes even beat my brothers wildcat 700. before I put the can on he would always out run me. Personally I like the fact that it's loud. When I live there are NO speed limits NO noise ordinances just lots of open mountain with deap powder and steep hills. On a side note I would say that where I ride 80% or more of the sleds have race pipes or cans on them. Noise just isn't an issue, neither is speed.
dilligaf52 03-11-2004, 01:04 AM I have a MBRP trail can on an 03 F7 - the sound is great, not really loud but a nice tone - I never noticed any difference in power. Just feels like you got more when you hear it.
phat_cat800 03-11-2004, 05:06 PM Thanks for the input guys. Sounds like a good product and my MBRP still looks like new  . He just doesn't want something to loud but to give it a nice 'bark' which the MBRP does. Brian I got the sound files and have them saved.
caper711cc 03-11-2004, 09:41 PM Buy a set of of SLP twins and to hell with the noise maker.Put some power
there and has a nice sound ...the best part it adds 10 -12 real h.p at 8100
rpm .
Cape breton Stock.......................................
F7-Dave 03-13-2004, 05:20 AM I put a D&D can on my 04 F-7. Sounds real nice, but I feel the stock can has better throttle response and feels like it accelerates alot stronger through the whole rpm range. My personally opinion, save your money!!
