I've heard different stories about the speed of these two. Many said the XC SP are faster than the ultimate performance PRO X's. Any first hand experiences with racing these two or three?

I drive a 2003 Prox 800 and from what i know is that the Pro X's exhaust had been placed diffently in the chassis. In that case when they did this, they lost HP. From my experience my first year racing it I had trouble beating many XC 800 models. I was getting a top speed according to my speedo of 105. I would have to say that the XC models get the same but are a little more quicker there. I did some work to my sled though this year and was getting rougly 108 top end and had no trouble beat any polaris 800's.

I have owned both, a 2002 XC SP 800 and my current sled, a 2004 Pro X. To me, the Pro-X is quicker off the line, as it should be. It is geared for Sno-X, not lake racing. It also has the Team clutch ( my 02 did not ). As for top speed not sure, but my Pro-X seems faster. I know my speedo was up to 115 MPH this season on a hard packed lake. I know speedos are off, but the sled had more pull to go. Remember the Pro- X is at it's best when ditch banging.

We tested our Pro X's on the ice this year. Were a race team so we know how to make them go stock. The 2003 Pro X 600 113.2mph,2003 Pro X 700 115.7mph,2004 Pro XR 800 112.9mph.The Pro XR had the 1.5 lug track on it and was geared alittle lower thats why the mph is lower than the rest. The distance was 1500 feet with a good ice surface and a properly calibrated radar gun. These sleds were stock except for clutching, gearing and jetting.

I have a 03' Pro X 600 and I have raced my roommates 02' XC 700 and we were pretty close. I was leading for a bit but then he started catching up after 600 Ft. I would have to say the Pro X has better bottom end and the XCs have better top ends. It all depends on how he rides. Mine was all stock and same for him except for his B&B Eliminator Silencer. I am getting my silencer this weekned and i will race him again and see how it is.

2004 XC700SP 115 mph on speedo=109 on gps. This was at 160 miles on the sled so now its prob a little faster with the motor being broken in more. The last time i had it out i was doing 100 but that was really crappy snow and it was about 40 degrees out. I've noticed a difference in mine when it got up around 600-700 miles.
