This post is more or less for the guys that live in or know the Timmins area.

Last year I was asking about the Lyne Motel on Riverside, I see it is now a senior's residence.

Talking w/ one of my co-workers that was up north last week, he was saying the Ramada was getting a bit rough around the edges. His group has stayed there a few years now when they've sledded thru Timmins. He also said that he heard that it was supposed to be turned into a senior's home. Is this true? If yes, I'll remove it from my motel listing.

Also, a fellow sledder emailed me to say they got stuck having to stay @ the Bon Air in Timmins last weekend. He told me I should rate it as "Use as last resort". Can anyone second this?

I have stayed at the bon air in timmins and it is not of the quality inn level but the room was clean and quiet with lots of parking. It is overdue for a facelift as the rooms are not modern, rather more 80's ish type of room. Ive stayed in a lot worse thats for sure..steve

at least you get free paper..coffee and muffin

Can anyone tell me what the access is like to the Timmins Super 8 & Comfort Inn motels? Direct to the trail or street/road running?

THe trail comes right up the hill into the parking lot of the Super 8. No road running whatsoever.

My Sledders have enjoyed the Cedar Meadows Resort. This is what Chris and Lori said - Great Place, very clean, great food, very friendly and has a restaurant and whirlpool.*They have outside lockup for sleds. Has alarm clock and coffee maker and hot water.

I had the same complaint about the Ramada and took it off of my accommodations page on my site. One Sledder said he thought it was weird that seniors were walking the hallways in their PJs! Whoooo Hoooo! Sounds like a fun place! lol

I've heard the Travelodge is great with an East Side Mario's next door. Yummm

I will try to find the Super 8 info and add it Accommodations Page (http://www.nlmotel.com/accommodations.htm) Sounds like good trail access.

We stay @ the Travelodge in Timmins. The Shell station that was next door moved, so gas is a bit of a hassle there. A 5 minute walk east from the Travelodge is the Fish Bowl. It's a nice seafood restaurant.

Our party of misfits stayed at the Cedar Meadows Resort last January. The resort is fairly new, clean rooms, excellent food in the dining lounge, tall cold beverages and great staff. I believe the room rate was about $95.00 per night. With two folks sharing, it's less than $50.00! Direct trail access that takes you out of town or completes a ring around the town. This proved handy as we had to make several trips to the sled rental place which has the direct trail access. I believe the Super 8 Motel is across the street from Joe Rent-all. I could be wrong on this last point. I would stay at the Cedar Meadows again!
