: Bad News Guys We Lost A Great Rider
Xtremeski74 03-20-2004, 12:30 PM Hello everyone, it's been a long time since I've been on. Just wanted to come on and say to EVERYONE out there to be safe. My cousin and I went out together for a day trip in Dolgeville,NY yesterday (3/19/04). We started out at 6:15am and hit the road. We stopped for some breakfast and continued on. We got to the Fasttrack gas station and unloaded the sleds. Everything was going great we kidded about me haveing my shoes tied because of the incident I had early in the seasion in my back yard!! We started out and headed to trail 8C. We were planning on going to Boonville. The trails were alittle sticky and bare in some spots but, we continued on. About a half mile up the trail I lost sight of my cousin. I approached the turn to see him lying on the ground next to a tree with his sled about twenty feet beyond him. I instantly got out my cell phone and dialed 911. They sent an emergancy crew as quick as possible to the scene. I knew from looking at him when I approached that it would be bad. All he said coherently was "That was stupid.....it was just stupid." He then began to just mumble....and eventually passed out. The ambulance took him to near by Little Falls hospital where his was pronounced dead on arrival. This is two incidents for me this year but I would let you know I will continue to ride. The sled he was riding was a 2002 Arctic Cat ZR800 and he had been riding since he was six years old. He died enjoying what he loved to do. Guys be safe and take care. You never know what could happen. Paul I'll Always love you!!!

Xtremeski74 03-21-2004, 02:59 PM Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers. Myself and the family appreciate that. I talked to his wife yesterday to answer all her questions about what happened. I told her that I posted this. Her reply was to tell you all to be very careful. You may think your invincible while riding but your not. She also said to be safe and keep the sport going. Thats what her husband would want! So, again I would say be safe I'll see you all on the trails! http://www.legacy.com/timesunion-albany/Le...ersonId=2047549 (http://www.legacy.com/timesunion-albany/LegacySubPage2.asp?Page=LifeStory&PersonId=2047549)
