Scott S
03-22-2004, 04:17 PM
I was one of the early ones. I first registered on March 18th 2001.

Unfortunately both my computer and brain were fried by lightning so I had no record of my original name (as scotts) along with other things like where I lived etc etc.. I thought it was Scott S so I re registered as such once I had most of my marbles back on board.

I think I was around 75 or so as scotts. I was always on here but spent most of my time reading and learning as I was new back to the sport so I don't think I had many posts (maybe 2).

Now I'm over 1400 with my new improved post trama name Scott S.

So if you want to know what happened to the early members we keep forgetting who we are so we sign back on as a new guy. LOL

So I guess I'm way under 1000, possibly under 100 according to my original registration.

Anyone know if I could merge my names and get back my seniority to my original date?

It's funny to think that we are old farts! :D

I still remember the day I joined - was just getting used to my computer at work and knew little about internet research.

I was looking for opinions on "Hot to go" big bore kits when I stumbled onto this site.

I must say - The forum skins have WAY improved.

I wonder if they'll ever have a retro skin day for us old farts! :p

:D I should try to contact a few of these people with low numbers that are no longer on the site, and see if they want to forfeit their number so I could move up the ladder, :p I hate to be lumped in with the over 1000 commoners.

Question for anyone under 100? What made you decide to sign on? There couldn't have been much action on the board, What did the boards consist of? SWRules

MrZzz checking in. I'm not under 100 but as for your question JasonF, this board had the most action and was the best place to get help with mods and problems then any other site when I signed on. The Ski-doo forum was also the leader in topics and activity back then. This is also one of the few boards that has never been plagued with bashers! Give it up to Corey and the moderators of present and past.

I signed on because I figured I had better learn how to take care of my sled so I could save some money and have some fun, instead of always having to wait until friends could do the work. And did it turn out great. I have learned more from this site than I thought I would. And its been great watching how much the site has grown and changed. Corey and his staff and all the moderators do a super job keeping things on track and functioning. SWRules

Even when SW was young it was a class place with some of the decentest people on the net ....it had it then and still does now .

Besides it just felt like home ..... :D

I think I was wastching the board for a long time before I actually joined and had something to say .....I'm kinda the quiet type :)

i think it was the first board that was actually a board that showed who was on and all the threads when you opened a post. not much bashing here at first. it seemed like there was under 400 members for atleast a year.

he has started his own site. And yes, unfortunately there was some conflicts. Too bad, as he was a knowledgable member.

6500+ and you guys should be happy to have me....

Dont ever forget us "commoners" are what keeps sites like these alive, no new members= a boring old site.

Big deal, there are tons of sites, i stumble on new ones everyday, doesn't mean always go back to them, get it.

Appreciate your new members, i would have never stayed around if it wasn't for LadyK making me feel welcome here, (along with a few others)

I know of a few sledding sites that are on "crash and burn" mode because they get no new members , or they spend ALOT of time ripping on eachother, feel fortunate people stay here.

LadyK is my favorite staff member here
