I had a problem with gas venting out all over my gas tank this season. Thought and was told that I was filling it up too much, but it happened on my last trip when I only filled my tank up halfway. Should there be a gasket on the gas cap/stick to equalize pressure? Any other thoughts?

mine leaks a bit too. on my oil container i had to remove a burr so it would seal right against the cap. maybe the gas tank is the same way.

It leaks quite a bit. Worst case, I'll take it to the dealer and see if they know what's wrong.

I had a simular problem on mine this year and what I found it to be is...... a plastic 90degree vent on top of the tank under the counsol and if you wreck your sled at all they will break off. I kept finding gas on my tank after I made it down the trail a mile or so and i thought my cap was leaking but the vent on top of the tank is fragile and will break easily. I talked to my dealer and he said it is pretty common for these to break, he sold me a new one for 10 cents so they are not expensive at all. Just a thought maybe thats your problem.

i agree, those are cheap plastic junk and easy to break. i wonder if there is a brass equivelant to it?

Thanks guys. I'll talk to my dealer and see about getting the part. If that is the problem, should be the cheapest part I've ever paid for. lol
