: Electric snow bike ?
WINTERFREAK 04-17-2002, 04:17 PM There is another after market ride out there. *The SKIcycle. *Its ALL electric. *
Top speed of 120mph ( so they say )
Weighs 178 lb
Also other goodies include...
recharging system so you dont have to charge it
GPS
built in Cell phone
and
surround sound ( believe it or not )
Click here to check it out!!! (http://www.skiev.com)
I'd like to know the range of that thing. Looks like the snowhawk. Those specs sound too good to be true, if the range is there, you can kiss the gas powered sled goodbye *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif
Steven Hohman 04-17-2002, 05:18 PM looks great....the only limiting factor will be the price, It looks kinda dangerous for the inexpierienced rider, how much does it weigh? *For a battery that can make a machine go 120 mph, it's bound to be extremely heavy, or will run out rather fast.
WINTERFREAK 04-17-2002, 05:39 PM Steven Hohman...the weight is 178lbs *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
YellowBelly 04-17-2002, 05:58 PM Looks cool! *Where'd you come accross that? Got any other info on it?
Thanks
sportx 04-17-2002, 06:21 PM the track looks pretty wild on that thing!
02MXZ600 04-17-2002, 06:45 PM Probably fun for about 20 minutes. *Then the battery runs out. *It can't last that long. *Sound pretty interesting though.
NDMtnSledder 04-17-2002, 06:57 PM Ok you guys tell me how you interpet this. *Onboard recharging system, never fill up, never plug in, never run out. *Are they trying to say that it recharges itself. *I don't see how that would be possible seems against what i learned in physics. *Or am i just reading it wrong.
WINTERFREAK 04-17-2002, 08:12 PM zr500...you are reading it right. *It's suposed to be all self contained for providing the power.
Greenstreak....want's more.
Rear suspention travel of 16"s
Single Ski 9"s wide
0-60 in 4.7 seconds
You can see it 1st at Haydays in September this year

SKI-DOOD 04-17-2002, 08:23 PM If it works, im not sure how i would feel about it. one 120MPH ?
and no sound of an engine?
to two stroke smell?
hmmmm?
ZR500~ The only way that it would have a self recharging power cell is if it had it's own mini nuclear power plant. I'm starting to wonder if it's real or just a joke. Come on, 178 lbs, surround sound and can go to 120 mph, i'll have to see it to believe it *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif
dooman 04-17-2002, 11:43 PM on board charging ,I am sure refers to having the charger hard mounted and wired so all you have to do is plug in and not hook up a charger also.

Ac I would get one but I don't think I could fix a nuclear power plant on the side of the trail.
Bigmac 04-18-2002, 12:13 AM There is no way this thing can be .... Looks like a motorcycle with a few computer tricks . And 178 lbs * hahahaha * The electric motor will weigh that alone ..... then there is the batttery pack . *I know they are working on fuel cells but they are not that small and lite yet ....
Snow Monkey 04-18-2002, 12:15 AM and this morning there was an alien mothership over my house, then my pig jumped my fence and flew away! http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
Rocketman 04-18-2002, 12:17 AM how come it has no handlebars?? http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/devil.gif
</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">and this morning there was an alien mothership over my house, then my pig jumped my fence and flew away[/b][/quote]
Funny you say that, same thing happened to me except it's my pet platypus that flew away http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
Chubby 04-18-2002, 11:57 AM I would say it's nothing more then a joke. http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/withstupid.gif
WINTERFREAK 04-18-2002, 06:11 PM I read all these negative posts here. *Were would the spot be if no one took a chance? *Look at the RX1 look at the Rev and those are just recent ideas. *I hope this snow bike thing works out for these guys. *I’m not sure yet if Id buy one, but with all the options and features it offers Id sure think about it HEAVY!!
So many skeptics *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif will see in September hu? *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
sportx 04-18-2002, 06:14 PM it looks like someone got a picture of a track and put it there *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif
CustomSledsRule 04-20-2002, 12:00 AM This is nothing more than a hoax. *It defies the laws of physics and is nothing more than a computer generated 3D model, like the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park. *If these claims were true, this sled would poses technology far better than any electric vehicle ever developed! *Built in cell phone? *Cars dont even come standard with built in cell phones.
Sharkey 04-20-2002, 01:12 AM This is not a hoax, they are absolutely looking for dealers, I was emailed a month ago, they were curious how I found out about the Ski-cycle.
LabradorBoy 04-21-2002, 02:37 PM This project was actually intended for military use before it was decided to aim it at the consumer market.....when the Dept of Defence wasn't interested.
Yes, it's go a great website and an awesome graphic rendering of the vehicle, but you'll never see anything like this.
As snowmobilers, we should all know by now that if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.
One more dreamer to add to the pile.
-Rob
performancex 04-22-2002, 02:20 AM I think dooman was right about the on-board charger. *If that thing could charge itself, that would mean we would all be living in Utopia. *And I KNOW I'm NOT in Utopia because when I look out my window I don't see ANY SNOW!
who is going to haydays ?? *TAKE SOME PICTURES of that thing then il start thinking about it.
performancex 04-22-2002, 03:55 PM I'm going. *I'll do pictures. *If I can find the thing there.
performancex 04-22-2002, 06:43 PM I checked out that site again. *It does say "never plug in...never run out...never fill up again." *What's up with that? *Sounds impossible to me. *I'm suspicious. *I'm gathering more info right now.
performancex 04-22-2002, 06:47 PM Getting there.

performancex 04-22-2002, 07:08 PM Hmm...
Can't find 'em on Qwestdex.com or on the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce site.
They're really secretive, it appears.
performancex 04-22-2002, 07:25 PM IT'S A HOAX!
Notice that technical contact--dupriest@prophetic.com
OK *Now go to www.prophetic.com
See where it says Produced and Directed by Kevin DuPriest?
performancex 04-22-2002, 07:48 PM I think there's a connection between the capitalized "REVELATION" on the prophetic.com site and the capitalized "REVOLUTION" on the skiev.com site.
Further, here's what I found on the prophetic site:

"accomplished digital artists", eh?
performancex 04-22-2002, 07:53 PM Here is that same domain name search that I did for skiev.com, only this one is for prophetic.com.
Notice the same address.

Rocketman 04-22-2002, 08:02 PM That's some great research....but don't you have to work once in a while? http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

performancex 04-22-2002, 08:06 PM I don't get paid enough to work 100% of the time.
IndySKS 04-22-2002, 08:42 PM And they say I got too much time on my hands .......lol
Maybe this new Honda sled *will run on Electric too......
Performancex, Seems like your really good in researching stuff, could you tell me if there are really UFO's in the Area 51 base and if your president Bush is really an Extraterrestrial? And how do they put that caramel into the caramilk bar *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif By the looks of it, you could probably debunk all conspiracy theories out there including all the mysteries Mr. Yarek is involved in *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif *I got to admit, that is some good research *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif
Rocketman 04-22-2002, 09:07 PM LOL..IndySKS...that is a sweet representation!! I love it! (except the track is at the wrong angle *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif ) But it looks great lol!! http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Bartman 04-22-2002, 09:45 PM I'm still waiting for a reply to the e-mail I sent them asking for more info, I will post it IF I receive one, if it is true it sounds like fuel cell technology.
NDMtnSledder 04-22-2002, 10:09 PM Performancex good work I'm impressed. *Never would have thought of doing it that way.
performancex 04-23-2002, 01:14 AM OF course there's UFOs at Area 51! *I don't even have to work to prove that one!
President Bush is not an alien, just a dimwit. *His mother, "Barbara" is, however, from another planet.
So is Mr. Yarek. *No human could do a backflip on a sled.
Some of the rumors about P.Y. are easily disputable, though. *Maybe tomorrow at work I will research the topic of the 'many faces of Paul Yarek.'

I know, what a joke.
Bigass electric motor and 100 + gadgets at 178 lbs? *Gee, I bet it'll be affordable too! *
The bodywork is essentially a tweaked version of a Ducati 916.
There are just soo many issues with that thing! *Even the 100" supposed track length doesn't correspond with what Camoplast uses as a pitch size for all of it's tracks. *Since Camoplast is the ONLY manufacturer of snowmobile tracks for OEMs right now, I think it's quite clear that this prototype hasn't gotten past even this phase yet.

this is even better than the april fools joke i made on all of you !
performancex 04-23-2002, 05:56 PM Ya know, I just realized that that prophetic.com site, about the movie "Reveleation" is probably a hoax, too. *Or else this Kevin Du Priest is a moron. *On the front page it advertises Dolby Digital and it says the movie is rated PG-13, yet if you look around you see that they are looking for screenwriters to develop the script. *The Motion Picture Assoc. of America doesn't assign ratings until they see the movie. *And I doubt Sony has produced an entire soundtrack of Dolby Digital white noise.
Steven Hohman 04-23-2002, 06:20 PM I try to click on www.skiev.com and it says something like "Directory Listing Denied
This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed" * I'd say it must be a hoax...
Sharkey 04-24-2002, 12:22 AM I have been emailed by Kevin Dupriest. This is not a hoax. He told me to notify my dealer for a possible selling of this machine. I have emailed to see what consumer may be looking at for dollars. If they give me a range I will let SWorld people know. Haydays in Sept. otherwise. Unless it goes the way of the Scorpion! http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif
performancex 04-24-2002, 04:06 PM I still don't believe it. *Sharkey, can you cut and paste what DuPriest wrote to you?
performancex 04-24-2002, 04:10 PM I just tried skiev.com, too. *Got "HTTP 403 - Forbidden" error.
Hmmm...
Sharkey 04-25-2002, 01:26 AM This website for the Ski-Cycle was not intended for general public, but it is for dealers, and prospective dealers. They changed it to eliminate junk from other people. They were shocked when they got even my email.
performancex 04-25-2002, 02:05 PM I'll be skeptical 'till I see it at Heydays.
YellowBelly 04-26-2002, 11:12 AM I don't know, sounds kinda crazy. Built-in cell phone, suround sound,....
BUt, there's an article on it on snowmobilenews.com !
Say's it's suppose to be at haydays.
Did they fall for it too??
revrnd 04-26-2002, 10:28 PM It's even mentioned in Snow Week #16. *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
