Hello i am interested in knowing if anyone has been drag raceing a 2004 Polaris SwitchBack 600/700/800 in hard packed/crusty conditons. Distance 660 or a 1000 feet. If so how does it stack up to the other brands long track or not. Just wanting to know before i start investing money in this machine. Thanks for you'r time Indy Rocket

I can't think of any advantages to having a long track for drag racing.

:withstupid:

You'd think the extra rotating weight would negate any traction advantage....

just my 2 cents....

long tracks have more track on the ground which will give it better traction.

:withstupid: I agree with RacerX408. My REV 440 MXZX will JUST beat a friend of mine who has a Renegade 700 with 136" track, 1.25" lug. I can take him by about 2 lengths to 75-80 MPH then he catches up and beats me top end.

More picks in a short track could give just as much traction, without the extra 23" of rubber.

i have to disagree perfX. even if u do have studs in your shorty the extra track on the ground will give u a better bite. plus if you're running studs in your long tracker than what??

Rotating weight is an evil thing, especially on high performance machines. The extra weight of the rubber - plus studs wouldn't be worth it. It would take that much extra horsepower to get the track moving in the first place. But once you get it going it would be great...

It was explained to me as - a pebble in a sock being swung around your head. Then put a large rock in the same sock...
