Carl "Showtime" Schubitzke will join fellow Duluth, Minnesota-native D.J. Eckstrom and the Team Amsoil/Polaris Scheuring Speed Sports team for the 2004-05 snocross season.

Team owner Steve Scheuring said the 22-year-old driver signed a one-year contract with the team last Friday.

Schubitzke's most recent win as a pro was in 2002 at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, Minnesota. But he sat out most of last season due to a wrist injury suffered during practice at Canterbury in January.

After five years with the team, 27-year-old Justin Tate is out of a job. Scheuring cited "consistency" for not renewing Tate's contract. Tate had two podium finishes this year in WSA SWC competition, including a Pro Stock win at Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Tate said he hopes to drive for a Polaris team next year.
