I recently got an etrex Legend for my birthday, and though I have had little time to play with it in the woods, I have found that it would be helpful when venturing off trail. My question is how would I down load some of the maps pinned at the top of the board? If there is a quick and easy plug and play, point me in the right direction. I have all summer to worry about it, but if I can get a head start with someone with experience, that would be great.
Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure how you would get the pinned tracks onto your computer. I tried downloading a couple of them but couldn't get them to work. I think you need the Mapsource program to open them and load them onto the GPS but not possitive. Either way though I would strongly recomend the MapSource CD because it GREATLY increases the detail compared to the base map. I'm really glad I got it. Sorry I couldn't be of much help :sleepy:
like scott said, get the mapsource cd. it is a million times better than the bese map that comes on the gps.

Thanks for the suggestion guys, I'll be out looking for one of those at lunch today. I would suspect they are available almost anywhere? Best Buy? Circuit City?

I would think any place that sells Garmin GPS's would have a MapSource CD. There are a few different versions for the States I think so first check to see which one would be best for you. I got mine on-line from www.gpscity.ca (go to www.gpscity.com for american prices).
