I tried mine with the WAAS on but didn't see any difference in accuracy so I just leave mine off to save some on the batteries. In the owners manual they make it sound like the satelite is really hard to pick up and hold a signal onto so when in the woods you may not be able to pick it up at all.

The WAAS is a new feature that is just gaining momentum, there are actually very few WAAS enabled satelites in use as of yet. The best thing to do is to look in your manual for what the WAAS satelites numbers are so that if you see one on your screen you know to leave it on. If you don't see any of those WAAS numbers on your satelite screen just turn the feature off to save batteries  . Another point to be made is that when a GPS states that it is accurate down to 3 feet, that is when it is locked onto WAAS satelites, when your locked onto regular sat. you usually cant get any better that 12 foot accuracy.

I just checked the manual and the WAAS satelite numbers are 33 and above. I dont think I've ever seen any of them on mine. On average my accuracy is about 6 meters.

I checked a few times today while out and even stopped in a big clear cut on top of a hill and the highest number of satelite I was picking up was 30 and hasd accuracy within 5 meters. Maybe once they get more satelites up and the system better we will be able to pick them up but until then you might as well have it turned off.
