My brother has a 2001 mountain max 700 with bender pipes, peak heads, vforce reeds, 151" track, Hi-Tech clutches with roller secondary, and I think 19-41 gears. the sled has good low end but it does not have the top end that he would like. we mostly do mountain riding but we are on the trail alot to get where were going. He would like to know if anyone has any good clutching tips he could use or if his sled is as good as its gonna get, he has read about many mountain maxs that have the same problem. any tips will help.

19-41 gearing might be the culprit here.... try a lower gear ratio before anything else.

thanks, I think we figured it out. He drilled out the inside rivets on his weights in the primary, and It had 19-40 gears in it, then he put either a 20 or 21 top gear and left the bottom at 40. he says it feels alot better now.
