what should I use in my sleds? What is a better fuel stabilizer, Seafoam or Stabil?

stabil is fuel stabilizer and I thought seafoam was for fogging your sled,,, if this is correct, you can use them all. I would definetly put some stabil in there just so the gas doesnt gel up on you in the carbs,,, but if your storing your sled indoors and you can start it up every 2 or 3 weeks, it doesnt hurt if you dont fog it,,, I have always fogged, but this year I didnt,,,

Stabil is what I use for fuel. I have some Polaris fogging oil for the cylinders. My sleds are stored at a storage garage I rent, so I don't get out to start them very often.

I'm going to try Seafoam for the first time this year instead of Stabil. I'm not really sure if it's that much better but a few people I know swear by it. Here's a review from another site:

Sea Foam is a wonder fluid.* I use it in my lawn mower, vehicles and especially my sleds.* It has kept many a carburetor clean, but the benefits don’t stop there.* Sea Foam is a conditioning agent that also stabilizes fuel and removes carbon.* Poor burning fuels can cause carbon build-up and Sea Foam cleans it.* It stabilizes fuel so that there isn’t the varnish that can build up over the summer and cause a carb or fuel pump rebuild.* Best of all, you can get Sea Foam just about anywhere.* For more info, visit www.seafoamsales.com.

I still say that if you don't pull your carbs and clean them once a year, your gambling with your engine.

Its an hour job, and can save you so much heartache. Stabil is great to keep the fuel fresh, but I wouldn't rely on it to avoid carb maintenance.

but thats just my 2cents worth,

I'm with Fish-Hog. Stabil is fine to keep the fuel fresh, but clean your carbs in November anyway.

a c man, I am gonna try the fitch,,, you are way to sold on it,,, so its worth a shot,,,,but, I am still gonna pull the carbs and clean em every year,,, this way I can get in there and make sure there isnt other possible problems,,,, as well as making sure they are as clean as when they were brand new.....

Trust me, it won't be but a time or two and you'll realize you won't need to touch those carbs.

I just had to pull the carb off my mower and my dads rototiller and clean the heck outta both of them,,,, the rotatiller wasnt real bad,,, it actually got water in it somehow,,,,dad has left it set outside for over 10 years through the summer,,,then puts it in the shed for winter,,,, well it started when he pulled it out,,then wouldnt start a week later,,,

my grasshopper carb had jello in it,,,, everytime I turned too quick, I was having to choke it to keep it running,,,, after a good carb cleaning,,, she purrs like a kitten,,,, so I am sure the fitch would have saved me some time on both of these,,,,
