i have a 2004 xcsp 700,and when i was going down the lake wide open the det light would flash , it didnt matter if the sled was cold or hot it would do it, but if i let off just an half inch it would stop blinking. did anyone else have a problem with det light blinking or any troulbe with top end.

I have a 04 rmk 151 have rode it in all snow conditions now. The det light has never flashed but it has derated in the frozen spring snow, but never on the move only after I have stopped and tryed to go hard again. I have read about this det problem before and have watched mine close. I think the problems in the xcsp might be in the tps.As for as top end the 151 hit 95+ by the speedolier, something I never thought I would see on that long of track. If you get it all figured out let us all know what you find..

this is comon when holding the sleds wide open for a length of time,i had the same problem with my Pro XR 800 and eliminated the DET so i could jet properly without going into stutter mode.waranty is void for doing this.

how much power is really lost when the DET is activated. my friend has an 04 xc 800. when his light comes on he clains that he can feal the power loss.

The DET light on my 04 xc 800 came on maybe a half dozen times in the first 2500 miles. Then I put the new ss valves in and it flashed everytime I got on the gas. Finally on my last ride I got sick of it and just unplugged the sensor...Sled worked awesome. The funny thing is it should have gone into a limp mode when I disconnected it, but it didn't. My dealer contacted Polaris and they said the CDI box was the culprit and changed it...we will see next season.

And yes, performance drops off big time when the DET is activated...

i know this det sensor is a good idea and safety feature but it must get real annoying. My friend bought and 04 xc 800. he was always worried about getting high test gas. then he would complian when running high speeds that his machine was shutting down. I would find this was a pain in the (*&.
