There will be no more 440's. There will be no more 800MOD sled. ..

The new class is 600 stock. . .and for the open its 600mod. This is for WSA and CSRA. The pro open will now be 600cc mod sleds. .

What a bad move!

wtf?? that's absolutely retarded. u can still run the 440's in the 600 class tho right? so the manufacturers will be making high strung 600's now?? i wouldnt mind a 600 like my 440. a 600 with 130+ hp

Where did you hear this? Nothing on either website.

I would also like to know where you found out this information. If you post something, at least have the firepower to back it up.

The 3 OEMs that build race sleds may have approached the WSA w/ this idea as a cost savings measure. They would be able to start w/ the same motor for a "stock" version & upgrade it for the "mod or "open" class one.

Mind you that's just my 2 cents.

Sounds like a lot of conjecture

No More 440s? (http://www.snowest.com/fusetalk/messageview.cfm?catid=5&threadid=128587)

I got an email from Ken Avann today. For the '05/'06 season, the Open class will be 600 cc. No word about the 440s in Pro Stock. He said that the ISR meeting is later this month.

I still don't see why pro stock isn't 500 cc production sleds

I think the CSRA tried that hoping that Yamaha riders would be interested since they had a 500 LC.

Rather than build a 440 or 500, Yamaha jumped into the Pro Open class in WSA.

It has been apparent to anyone that has gone to the races the last few years that anyone, even in the novice & junior ranks, racing a Yamaha is racing w/ 1 arm tied behind their back. The suspensions were never meant to be raced.
