speed is everything

a cat buddy of mine brought me his sled,it would spit out fuel from the overflow hose on the pto side carb. I checked the needle and seat all is good there, running 330s for mains, and 1 turn out on the fuel air mixture screw.also if you let it idle for more than a minute or so it loads up bad enough to drop the idle and eventually kill it. leaned out the oil pump a little because there was a teaspoon of oil in each port when i took the y-pipe off, plugs look good. ANY IDEAS!!

Make sure the floats arn't sticking down...
If that doesn't help try a new needle and seat.

did you check the floats to see if they actually float? sometimes they develop a small hole in them and fill up with gas and don't float.

Sorry for the late reply...just joined the board today. *If this is not a float problem, it sounds like a torn diphragm in the fuel pump. *Fuel will dump right into the crank thru the impulse line...it will even do it when the motor is not running and you are parked facing downhill. *I've seen this happen several times...

Now I feel pretty stupid. *What I just said would have nothing to do with the overflow tubes. *I guess I should learn to read the question before I respond...
But if the machine ever floods like a pig at idle or when not running, check the fuel pump :-)
