i am getting my sled ready for grass and was wondering if it would better to put more wheels between the rails, or add some small ones on the outside?iv'e already did a few test runs and think it's set up right., just lookin to lose some friction. any suggestions would help thanks. :) SWRules

I would add some to the inside if the skid and install some anti-ratchet drive sprockets. With the anti-ratchets, you can run the track looser, which will free up some hp and reduce rolling resistance. If adding the anti-ratchet drive sprockets is not an feasible, consider milling down the hifax to about .125" Adding larger rear wheels will also help reduce rolling resistance.
What kind of times are you running now?

i have milled down the hifax, and i think i am going to go with a big wheel kit.i have looked at high performance eng and they have several different wheel set ups so i guess that will be my next move. anti ratchet sprocket is another thought, if i went with that and a big wheel set up would i need any additional wheels between the rails or would that be overkill? thanks for the reply harticat! :) SWRules

You could add more wheels, take a look at the Pro Line or Wahl Bros. suspensions, those both have more wheels than the stock suspesion. But remember, the more wheels you add, the more weight you are adding. If adding weight, then your horsepower /weight ratio decreases. Those other suspensions are substantially lighter than your stock suspension.
By adding more wheels will also help reduce the rolling resistance. The track will be rolling along the wheels instead of sliding against the hifax.
Hope this helps, Kevin

The Wahl suspension, depending on which one (grass/ice, rubber track or asphalt) can weigh anywhere from about 28 to 40 lbs. The stock suspension in your ZRT weighs about 70 lbs.
I would definitely go with the Wahl, heck, what have ya got to lose? :D
What class are you planning on running in on the grass? If you get the Walh you will have to run pro stock, as aftermarket suspensions are not legal in improved. But if you are gonna run pro stock anyway, definitely get the wahl.
