my map source program is overall great, but i noticed that there are a few streets in my city that are not on the cd. One street in particular has been there for at least 10 yrs. maybe longer and its a well known street in one of our larger subdivisions. I also wonder how accurate some of the old longing rds are in the woods. Some roads that i have been on have to have been there for many yrs but yet they are not on the mapsource. Maybe its just my part of the Country, but just wondering if anybody else has noticed this.

Yeah I've noticed the same thing. The lower subdivision just below my house isn't on the map either and it has been here before I moved up here which was 8 years ago. Its kinda hard to get alot of the logging roads since there are so many new ones made each year but there are still many older ones that it doesn't show and also it shows a few roads that are so old and grown up you can only walk them. Also they seem to have a good mapping of the brooks and streams around Fredericton but as you venture farther from the city there seems to be a line where they stopped mapping them  . I know the MapSource software is very close to the 'paper' map that my ol'man has for work. If I can find it I will check the year it is, but I think it may be from 2000. Hopefully they will have an update sometime soon that can be downloaded.

I've noticed the same thing when checking out the businesses at Hwy intersections, it will show a resturaunt that was there 10 years ago and also show the one that is there now in the exact same place. Same goes for gas stations, it will show the previous named fuel stop and the current one, someone is updating the software but not deleting the old info. As far as roads go I have been very impressed, the Mapsource R & R for Michigan is awsome, several times after riding very rough trails at night we decided to find a different path home, most of the time while we watch the Gps we would ride right past the turnoff we wanted and have to turn around only to find a very secluded untouced road that had a few branches falled at the trail crossing. Talk about spooky, riding through a dark forest with no tracks in sight only following your gps, now thats fun
some of the old timers i my area say they would never trust a gps, i just laugh. I Know the first time i used my gps in very thick wooded area where it was almost impossible to go through, my friend was saying. " that gps better be working, i was beginning to wonder but it took us where we wanted to go.
