I don't want to rain on your parade. But letting them tow each other on a saucer or or tobboggan might not be a great idea. During the winter of '02/'03, a boy was killed in the Barrie Ontario area while he was being towed on a GT Racer behind a snowmobile.

One of the first things we are taught as sledders, is to have a rigid connection between the snowmobile & the object being towed.

Probably not a good idea to get towed behind a full size snowmobile, but that little 120 tops out at what 8mph?

it probably isnt the safest, but we have done it also,,,, heck, I ran in the the bathroom and when I came back out the rope on the 120 had broke so my son had one of the daycare kids haning on the bar at the back and was dragging him around with no sled at all!!!! had to put an end to that one before my wife caught it!!!!!

Hey D.D.
one thing I like to see is that both kids (even the one on the saucer) are wearing helmets.

Great pics, let your kids do this, keep them under some form of control, and they will be fine(Helmets a must of course). It will be one of their best memories of growing up. We used to do this ALL winter long on the sled our father gave us, a 1975 TC 175. It would go 45-50 mph, but not pulling another kid. We'd put on 7-800 miles a season just pulling each other around the yard. Like I said, it was for us, and will be for your kids one of their fondest memories growing up.

At some point you have to let kids be kids. Allow them to enjoy the experience of sledding - but keep them safe. Nice to see the helmets and supervision...

I used to get towed when I was younger on a GT snowracer behind an old Ski-Doo Blizzard 9500. The speedo was broken, but I'm sure we did like 60 km/h... we always wore helmets and nobody got hurt. I got winded when we hit a gopher hole on the crest of a hill and the GT caught air. I cam down on the lip on the back... got back on a couple minutes later and played some more.

It looks like your kids are having a hoot... and staying out of trouble.

Back in the day me and my brother and are friends always pulled each other on the GT's behind a old 294 TnT Silver Bullet then upgraded to a 340 Everest then a 98 MXZ 500 then a Mach Z :dazed:

Was fun when we first got the TNT me and Machzzzz1 must of put 800 miles in one field pulling each other. I remember Mach taking me for some burns down the lake on his mach when i was on the GT (nothing to fast) :hallo1:

This year me and my friend made a 5 foot jump and were hitting it. Those things never get old.

We even pull the GT's behind the boat in the summer just got to strap a life jacket to the GT and your all set :hallo1:

Hey revrnd, I hear what your saying but the 120 only does about 8mph and it is in a flat park in my back yard, I'm not too worried yet. I know we have all done things like that on bigger sleds and survived.

We towed each other behind a 12/3 on a toboggan w/ a rope as well. Like the email that was posted a long time ago here on SW, in the 60s & 70s we did a lot of stuff that people would consider horribly dangerous these days.

That said, I'm looking forward to watching my 7 year old nephew riding my old Elan (w/ adult supervision)

I have to agree,,,,there were things that we did when we were kids that is considered horrible parenting if we were to let our kids do the same thing today,,,,
kids will be kids,,,they are going to get bumped and bruised, its part of growing up. Not saying that you wish your child a broken arm,,,but it does happen,,, I lived,,,,all of us here did,,,,

can you imagine what society would do to our parents for letting us do the things we did when we were young???

Nice pictures Darryn, looks like they were having lots of fun. I dont see any problems about towing a sled behind the little 120 and it looks like it was a safe place. Not on the trails, like the few my brother ment this winter :cussing: . I think we all have been towed or towed others behind the sleds. Infact we still did it in grade 12, except there wasn't any snow or snowmobile, we used a truck and old dirt road  . Not one of the best ideas but was fun until the GT fell apart.

Nice pics! And the kids sure have fun!
We do have a kinda "picnic" every spring on sunny weekend on near lake and tow kids on GT or snowboard.
Kids love it! (with helmets on and "slow" speed.

Back in high school I had a snowboard and my friend had a snowmobile (and a tow rope). You can guess the rest....
