I know that it is not right next door to Traverse City but we ride the Cadillac trails quite a bit. You could ride from TC to cadillac by sled I believe - that would be a nice ride with good scenery.

Their is a good trail just outside of town. I believe its off of Bunker Hill rd. Nice Power lines to play on just outside the staging area.

I would only do it during the day. I almost learned a tough lesson by going off trail at night and started heading into one of the deep ditches on the powerlines. If you ever ride out of there you will know what I mean.

You can take that trail down to Lake City, and into Cadillac. Hell if you really wanted I think you could get to the white pines trail and go all the way down by Grand Rapids.

You can hit the main trail off Garfield Rd. Heading towards TC (It runs by the little Mayfield store) If you go east it will take you to Ranch Rudolf, Fife lake , Kalkaska or TC. If you go west It takes you out through Hoosier Valley. Those trails have been my stomping grounds for years. You can also hit them off m113.
