I'm going to look at a Tour Buddy tomorrow that I can get for $60 Canadian (great deal!). What I want to know is does anybody use one here and how well do they work? Do they affect handling in any way? Are they strong? Any opinions would be appreciated!
charlo, is this a tour buddy that is placed ontop of the belt gaurd? if so, i doubt you will notice any handling problems. If you did notice them it wouldnt be for long because I heard that the gas in the buddy is the first to be used, so after 10 or 20 miles the extra wieght is all burnt off. I would say 60$ is a steal if its in any good. I looked at one a guy had 3 yrs ago and he wanted like 125$ for his.
Up north NB where you are, a buddy would be great to have so you wouldnt have to worry about getting as much gas at popple or island lake. If gas stays at these rediculous prices its scary to even think what they will be charging up there this year. I guess 1.35 or 1.45 $ per litre would be a good guess.

Dawg,
I don't even want to think about it! Doesn't matter though!I tried this four wheeler thing and wanted to turn around after the first hour, I'll stick to sledding! I'll start walking to work so I can afford gas for my sled if I have to. I guess the tour buddy will help and give me almost as much range as my buddies ZR 800, they have a huge tank on them!

Charlo, are you buying it from a person or a store? If you're buying from a store, let me know the store name, I'd like to get one too for that great price.

woodworker620,
Sorry but I got it from a private sale. I picked it up today, still can't believe the deal I got. I have been looking at the tour buddies for a while but I couldn't justify $219 Canadian +taxes and shipping. The guy also has a jack seat for sale for $60, I might pick that up next week.
charlo, you got a deal man. actually you stoll it for that price. I thought the buddy's were right around 150 $ but you say over 200$ ? wow. I cant justify paying over 200$ to get some extra range, specially now with the mileage the newer sleds get.

Dawg,
I just checked the web site and they are $215 +tax and shipping. The reason why I wanted one is the Doo tanks are small compared to your Fire Cat, only 40 litres. The tour buddy adds 12 litres so I now have almost the same amount of fuel as you already carry.

They are great to have. Adds an extra 1/4 tank of gas. No handling issues at all.
And yes it does drain the Tour Buddy first before the gas in the main tank. Ran one for the last 2 years on my Legend 800. $60 was a steal.
I have it sitting in my garage now, as I traded in my 800 for an SDI, and I was asking $100 CDN.
anyone interested let me know.
