winterpark 04-25-2002, 03:41 AM Hey watch it now, mxz7. *I listen to rap too...
99Indy500-you aren't kidding about AC/DC being a good show. *I saw them last year. *Best concert I have ever been to hands down.
I like rock and techno, don't really care for country, rap or classical.
99Indy500 04-25-2002, 10:59 AM A couble other bands that are sweet are guns and roses, Bon jovi, Aerosmith,Skidrow, greatwhite * 80s rock rules!
revrnd 04-25-2002, 11:32 AM I think the reason we haven't had anyone pick rap as their choice is it's impossible to wear a backwards ball cap & do rag under a helmet. Plus how would you ride with your helmet on sideways or backwards? http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/withstupid.gif *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
WINTERFREAK 04-25-2002, 12:20 PM I can't vote ( since my music is not on the poll *) but I'll tell you anyway. *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif * I listen to Dance/Club music. *Some of the stuff I listen to is ATB, DJ Sammy, DJ Encore, iio, and Kylie Minogue to just name a few. *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
z800rotax 04-25-2002, 12:27 PM I still love that 80's hard rock like the others.I still have my lumber jacket from high school with a iron maiden powerslave
patch on the back http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif I'm a fan of old country as well like
merle, johnny cash and such.As for newer tunes i listen to creed, godsmack, blink 182 and stuff like that.I pretty much like it all but rap.
revrnd 04-25-2002, 12:39 PM z800rtx: do you still have your Kodiaks from high school? http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif * A lot cheaper to dress a teenager back in the 70s & 80s than now. We were happy with a RUSH t shirt, a Kenora dinner jacket, jeans & a pair of Kodiaks. No Nikes, dockers & Tommy Hilfiger nonsense back then * http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
z800rotax 04-25-2002, 01:53 PM I still have a few pairs of them rev http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif What about the high cut
runners with the tongues hanging out, that was in during the metal days as well LMAO.I still have a few concert t-shirts with the white 3/4 length sleeves but i just use em as rags now since i'm like 80lbs heavier than i was back then. The motley crue shout at the devil t-shirt was my favorite http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif
performancex 04-25-2002, 01:53 PM Uh, oh, we have the fusion of rap and snowmobiling--lyrics from Dr. Dre feat Eminem "Forgot About Dre":

alscool 04-25-2002, 05:13 PM No one has mentioned Led Zepplin, The Who, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, or the Rolling Stones. All are great rock and roll bands and have their own claim to fame.
Nowadays it seems that anyone can produce some trash and get famous for a month or two but those 70's bands will rock on *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/exclamation.gif
phazerhater 04-25-2002, 05:41 PM I like a little bit of everything accept most country music(though I like Shania cuz she's HOT!lol) *I prefer any style of rock; slipknot, static x, tool, metalica, zeplin, floyd, etc. and do ocasionaly listen to the dreaded rap music. http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif * I just listen to it cuz I like the bass(I have a couple 12" subs in the back of the truck and a couple amps that need pounded every once in awhile)hehe http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

revrnd 04-25-2002, 06:12 PM This post will only mean anything to people in T.O. & southern Ontario. Back in the mid 90s when Q107 started to suck & they had that experiment with the Leaf games for the season, I started listening to CFNY (The Edge) @ night. I really got into the stuff they were playing Friday nights (Live from The Kingdom in Burlington) Tool, Static X, Ramstein, etc. I started to scare some of my metal friends *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
They're mostly into Crue, Scorpions, Winger (the hair bands) & I mean that in a good way.
Now the Mighty Q has gone back to classic rock http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif Too bad they play too much Neil Young & Tragically Hip *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif
Funny how none of the Canadian members have mentioned them. I can't see how people can say they are one of the greatest Canadian rock bands. The only 2 songs of their's that I like are 50 Mission Cap & Courage. The rest suck.
Wolfman 04-25-2002, 09:03 PM Here's another everything vote. *If it sounds good, I'll listen to it, and what genere of music doesn't matter. *I have everything from Chopin, Beethoven, to rap in my music library. *I also have plenty of Native American, Celtic, some regional music (austrailian), and have collected every Musical Starstreams program played since January 01 (11 CD's in MP3 format).
NDMtnSledder 04-25-2002, 10:44 PM I gotta go with the everything vote. *I scare alot of people. *I can have everything from oldies to static X in the CD changer. *Only thing I prefer not to listen to is country. *Got sick of it one year working in the field when the only station I could get was a country station.
revrnd 04-26-2002, 03:10 AM ZR500, I have to agree with the scaring people thing. revrnd 04-28-2002, 03:30 PM Went to see Motorhead last night in Toronto. As usual louder than $%^& *A buddy of mine who is a real headbanger took me up. Second time I've seen them, sixth time for him!

revrnd 05-01-2002, 07:34 PM A few years ago, just after the self-named Rage CD came out, we were coming home from the NASCAR race in Brooklyn Mich., listening to one of the rock stations in the Detroit area. Sitting in traffic on the Ambassador Bridge, we had the tunes cranked up. I think we had an idea that the band was Rage Against the Machine, but didn't know the song. Partway thru the song we had to pull up to the Canadian Customs booth, so I turned off the stereo. *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif Got asked a few questions and away we went. I turned the radio back on & another song was on.
We never thought anything of this until a couple of months later. We were out at a club & the same Rage tune (Killing In The Name) that was on that day was being played. When it got to the latter part of the song & its lyrics, we had a good laugh http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif I said, probably a good thing we turned the radio off. The Customs guy wouldn't have been impressed with the lyrics *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/devil.gif *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif

At the Motorhead show last week, I asked my buddy the metalhead if Fast Eddie Clark was doing anything. He said he hadn't heard anything in years.
About UFO, could you recommend a CD for someone who has a passing interest in them? I remember hearing a bit of them back in the early 80s.
z800rotax 05-02-2002, 01:56 PM I also like rage but after a long day of work if i hear that killing

Snowmobile Stud 05-02-2002, 04:15 PM I too agree with Rocketman! *80's music is the sh#t... But every once in a while country is fun to listen to.. the best time to listen to it is on the way to the cabin! http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
The best concert I ever saw was Motley Crue.I think it was in '84 the shout at the devil tour. They rocked the house bigtime.
Another great concert was Queensryche the promised land tour in '95 I think. Not that it was the best release by them, but they played plenty of the old stuff.Operation Mindcrime was my favorite release, they played almost that whole album nonstop, just total rockin good time. Some of you must remember Operation Mindcrime. *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Sorry Cherone, your not included.
Latest...Kenny Wayne Shepherd, do yourself a treat and go see this band,(he's carrying the torch passed from Stevie Ray)been a long time since I seen anyone burn a house down like this cat! *Noah Hunt on vocals is equally talented.

revrnd 07-13-2002, 01:35 PM Lickin': Do you know of a website for the Sam & Dave Tour?
Back in '84 I was on night shift & Ozzy was in Toronto one week & VH (with Dave) the next week. I could only take 1 night off, so I went to see Ozzy. I figured I'd see VH the next time they were thru Toronto.

doopilot 07-18-2002, 11:13 PM I'm a mid 70's - early 80's hard rocker. Some on my list would be: AC/DC, Cheap Trick, Bob Seeger, Pat Benetar, REO, and maybe some of you Canadians remember Trooper. *Some country is OK especially the newer chicks (or is it hotties now) like Shania Twain. http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/inlove.gif She could take my MXZ 800 for a ride anytime.

I saw a Shania special & it started with her riding a 'doo across a field towards the camera. Pulls up & shuts it down.
I used to be punk, still listen to it a lot but I'm not buying anything new any more... The Dwarves, Snuff, The Hives and The Spitts are some of my favourites..
Nowadays I listen more to psychedelic stuff.. A lot of psychedelic trance (X-Dream, Hux Flux, Talamasca, Etnica) and some psychedelic rock... Pink Floyd's early 70s stuff and Soundtrack of our Lives.. I've been listening to Pink Floyd for over 23 years now (since I was born), and just can't get bored with them.. #### good http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

revrnd 07-30-2002, 01:37 PM On Saturday I went down to Limestone NY (north of Bradford PA) with some friends. LA Guns, Firehouse, Warrant, Ratt & Dokken were playing. Just as Ratt was ending their set it started to pour & lightning. They moved Dokken's equipment & they finished up in the bar.

idooski 08-11-2002, 01:19 PM I couldn't really vote for one. I listen to almost all types. (no pop and very little rap) Mostly hard or classic rock for me. Guess I'll never grow up. (At least I hope not) Nothing cranks me up on the way to the trails like a good rock tune.
skidoo68 08-21-2002, 10:15 PM Well how bout some good ole Cdn homegrown,Triumph,Helix,April Wine,Santers,Rush,Goddo, can't forget some of my other favs,AC DC,Aerosmith,Ozzy,Van Halen/Hagar,Scorpians........Long live 80's hair rock.Like the newer stuff like POD,Godsmack,Rob Zombie,Kid Rock.Great cruisin tunes in the off season in the Iroc.
another MXZ 08-23-2002, 02:35 PM I like all kinds of music but my favorates are Disturbed,Tantric,Lincon park and some other hard groups. Then on the other side of the scale there is U2 and Creed. Thease are all good groups in my eyes.

revrnd 08-25-2002, 10:37 PM I'm not sure if I ever saw Helix. I think Anvil and/or Kickaxe opened up for Quiet Riot & the Scorpions when I saw them at the CNE around '83 or '84. I saw the Headpins open up for ZZ TOP on the Afterburner tour at Maple Leaf Gardens. They also played w/ Toronto (Holly Woods) at a bar 3 or 4 years ago in T.O.
I check out MMM @ 6 too. http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif Lot better music & videos than the crap on MM.

I love 80s rock, its gods gift to man. I also like Hard rock and country. But i really dont care what it is. If it sounds good at the moment im listening to it. Except RAP.
I also have to thank Dean Martin for the Machzzzz1 theme song (king of the road).
Punk music is what i like MxPx, Sum 41, Simple Plan, AC/DC.
7c Wanna Be 01-30-2003, 07:32 PM I think Gun's and Roses could have been the next Rolling Stones, I like a ton of the bands already mentioned. A great local band is Local H , two guys that can really rock. Also love Candelbox their first c.d. was great. It was really cool to see my 15 year old nephew listen to ac/dc and the Beastie boys for the first time.
TheVintageIdiot 02-01-2003, 09:14 AM Hank Williams JR and Johnny Cash, lots of country, G n R, NoFX, pretty much anything but rap. But that's not music anyways.

alscool 02-06-2003, 08:49 PM Any one here ever get to see Frank Soda and the Imps? He was a cover band that played the Clubs in the 80's (The Chaud and Pappion in Hull, QC) He would dress in outragous costumes like Superman with exploding head gear (pigs, volcanoes, joints....
He would jump from table to table ripping out Hendrix, Zepplin............ or at least thats how I remember it :D

doonut 02-18-2003, 10:49 AM My ridiculous sized cd and album(yes those big flat round things)collection contains everything from early Delta blues(Howlin Wolf,Muddy Waters,BB King etc) to the newcomers like Kenny Wayne Shepperd,Colin James and Big Daddy G.. Rock like early Zepplin, the Stones, and Rush throughTeenage Head, Van Halen and The Clash to the Dave Matthews band,NickleBackand No Doubt. Old 20's to 50's jazz,Big Band music, phsycadelic 60's stuff. Its pretty much ABC music(Anything But Country) around my place.
My collection would not be complete without some Ted Nugent,Benny Goodman, Frank Zappa, the Crash Test Dummies,Max Webster,Triumph,ZZ Top,Stevie Ray Vaughan,April Wine,Bruce Cockburn,Jethro Tull,Gordon Lightfoot,Little feat,The Grateful Dead,The Fabulous Thunderbirds,The Guess Who and the Who Too. Some Long John Baldry,Van Morrison, Alice in Chains,Marianne Faithful and on and on.
Rollo D. Motoski 02-19-2003, 05:54 PM Saw Frank Soda several times the most memorable being at the Gasworks. Had Volcano and TV blow up on his head. Had a cool hat that said Bull$hit protectors on the ear flaps. He stood on our table and guzzled half our pitcher of beer (bought us a new one). Great showman.

When i am driving i can listen to country or rock but when i am weightlifting, running, or working in the garage it has to be rock noting else will do. Anything from the 70's-today from LYNYRD SKYNYRD to KID ROCK.
I listen to anything with a beat. Not to picky tend to listen to Rock though ;)

NewfieBullet 07-27-2003, 02:14 AM Eaglesmith, man, Fred Eaglesmith. Alternative country.
Can't do Rap, can't do metal, can't do dance or techno. Top 40 blows and pop country just plain sucks.
Alternative country, regular R&R, jazz, blues and soul are what I like.
jacqui583 07-28-2003, 03:14 PM We need to be able to pick multiple choices! Classic rock, hard rock, alternative, it's all good; 'specially when it's good and loud. Don't like rap or country.
Used to do a lot of arena concerts at Cobo Hall in Detroit when I was younger in the 70's and 80's; Aerosmith, Nazareth, Blue Oyster Cult, all kinds of stuff. Now my 14yo daughter wants me to take her to some and all I can think of is all the trouble we got into back then! :nervous:
When I was growing up my parents complained about my music being too loud; now my kids complain about the same thing! :p I guess some things never change...
jtkennedy9 07-29-2003, 09:18 PM Like just about anything but country and rap.
Favs: Tragically Hip, Bob Mould/Sugar, Vines, Jane's Addiction, Rage, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Coldplay, Hives, Curve, Nine Inch Nails, Eels, Sigur Ros- Also love 80's alt (REM, Psych Furs, Echo & the Bunnymen, Cure, Smiths, Cult) and 80's metal.
jeepster 07-29-2003, 11:08 PM I don't think I saw linkin park anywhere, whitch I find strenge. My favorite songs are crawling, points of authority well pretty much all the songs on the linkin park album reanimation. Also, alive from POD, and one of the tunes from sledecks 4 and 5 from ramstein. I have to say that I listen to all kinds of rock. I especially like linkin park, iron maiden, all the sound track of slednecks, depeche mode, u2 and lots more. I stay away of rap, contry, classical and rave style of music. No ofence, but it's just not my style. The kind of music I listen to depends on what I doo. Any xtreme sports that involves driving somthing, I listen to rock to pump up the adrenaline  . When I'm at work, pretty much everything goes. When we have a party, club, dance techno and trance.
DamageInc 07-30-2003, 05:06 AM I listen to a lot of classic metal and punk, but more country than anything. Not the corporate pop-country crap (Tim Mcgraw, Kenney Chesney, etc), but REAL country: Merle Haggard, BR549, Hank 3, Heather Myles, Johnny Cash, etc.
TnTs4mE 07-30-2003, 10:24 AM Classic Rock all the way, Hendrix, Zep, Stones and the rest. Than throw in some southern rock, Allman Bros, ZZ Top, Skynryd. How many form the Detroit area remember Wild Wednesday's or Freaky Fridays out at Sherwood Forest in Davison?
Best concert that I been to was Zepplin at the Silverdome in Pontiac. Second best was the Stones at Rich Stadium in Buffalo.
Nightwish, Iron Maiden, ZZtop, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Roy Orbison, Mylene Farmer, Marylyn Manson, Metallica, Toadies, Temple of the dogs, The president of the united states of america, Offspring, Rancid, Groovy Aardvark, Grimskunk, Rob Zombie, Rem, U2, Van Halen, Motley Crue, Loverboy, Rush, Jo Satriani, Paul Simon, Peter Gabriel, Buddy Guy, Leon Redbone, John Lee Hooker, Corbeau, NIN, Leonard Coen, Jimmy Hendrix, Depeche Mode, Indochine, Bob Marley, Cranberries, AC/DC, Duran Duran, Def Leppard, Pink Floyd, Ozzy osbourne, ABBA, Twisted Sister, La Bolduc, Eurythmics, Madonna, Weezer, Collin James, Gary More, Garbage, Green Day, Red Hot Chilli Pepper, Morcheeba, Primus, Rammstein, The Smashing Pumpkins, Violent Femme, Zwan, Hole, Gun's & Rose, Bad Religion, Beastie Boy, Pennywise, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Billy Idol, David Bowie, Queen, The Cure, The Police, Nickelback, Kiss, Goerge Thorogood, Rolling Stones, Les Mauvais Quart d'Heure, Canoe, Morse Code, Mamas & the Papas, Janis Joplin, The Doors, Cayouche, ....., ........, ........ I saw Dio when he was w/ Sabbath in the early 80s & then in the 90s @ the CNE.
Rush I've seen every tour since Signals.
Ozzy solo for the Bark @ the Moon tour @ Maple Leaf Gardens & the Sabbath tour a few years back @ the Dome.
I saw Uncle Ted @ the Amphitheatre 2 years ago when he opened for Lynyrd Skynyrd. I always remembered when he played in Toronto back in the 70s. The animal rights do-gooders were always freaking out about him  :D
Finally, I heard last week that Rob Halford is back w/ Judas Priest. Saw them way back when during the Defenders of the Faith tour @ the Gardens & a couple of years ago w/ Ripper Owens on vocals @ the Warehouse. He did a surprisingly good job.
