I have a 2000 500 XC and i am not sure which pipe to buy for my sled. I want it loud and i want a good horsepower gain (6-10 at least). Can anyone give me advice?

Advice? Yes, consider somebody besides yourself when selecting a new pipe. Most pipes are capable of making very good power....with NO additional noise REQUIRED to do it. The sport, and everyone around you, will be a lot better off for it.

Must admit I'm not a noise fan either, but really like a sweet rumble of a good pipe set-up.

Slp single makes good power and low noise.

not sure about polaris, but my brother put a speedwerx on his zr last season. Not sure how much hp he gained but he gained a couple legnths and some top end. He used his stock cannister. he tried to match the setup with a mbrp can, it was way too loud. everyone knew he had somethign done to his sled when they heard it. The can killed his performance. he lost about 3 legnths so he took it off and put the stock can on. You can get power with out having more noise.

I gotta ask why ? Not sure what else you have done to your sled but getting it clutched properly will outperform a pipe any day. Keep in mind it is still a 500. Granted those XC 5's are fast but if you are used to the little 5 and your cash flow can handle it maybe it is time to step up to a 6 or 700. If you do put a pipe on it keep in mind you will still need to do some clutching as the pipe will likely perform best at a different rpm.

That was the way it was with my 02 MX Z. Lost maybe 3-4 mph on the top end. But it sounded soooo sweeet.

I have a mbrp cannister on my 700, it sounds really nice, but it will give you a wicked headache.

I have to say I agree with this guy - if you want to make more hp for your little 500, better off get a bigger sled. Thats how I look at it. Adding pipes will not give you 8 - 10 hp - maybe best at 6 hp at the very most. - WL -

Do us, and all the landowners who graciously allow you to ride on their land a BIG favor and leave your exhaust quiet stock. If you want at least a 6-10 hp gain buy a 600.
