I bet if Yamaha upgrades it, they will come out with a 4-stroke work sled.

There is a reason for the slow fan-cooled engine.
The sled is meant to go slow that is why it has a fan and an extra low gear. When prepping trails it is sometimes necessary to creep at 5-10 mph for miles, if a liquid engine did this it would boil or overheat. This is why the Vk 540 is the perfect work horse, it is desinged to go slow, pull heavy, and do it all day long.
If you wanna go fast get another sled, the RX-1 doesn't sound to bad!
I, myself, am a proud owner of a VK-540, the machine still impresses me every time I use it.
