Hey all I got a new gig. I make my chefs debut at the High Country Lodge, formerly known as High Country Snoasis. It is right on the powerline to Whitney, those of you who where at SW's annual ride this year will prolly remember the area. I start there this Friday night and am working there all weekend. This is an EXTREMELY sled/ATV/dirtbike friendly location. Here is the link check it out

You know I would never work somewhere that wasnt friendly to recreational peeps like us  If you are in the zone pop in for a meal, a drink, a look around. I feel priviliged to be working at such a sled friendly environment. We have stopped there for food and accommodations before.

Well congrats to the both of you...

We'll have to organize some sort of SW mini-ride this winter in that area and make a pit-stop at the high country lodge....

Paul, it's southeast of Whitney. I'm not sure how far by sled that way, but it's about half an hour from Lake St. Peter.

I've sledded there once a couple of winters ago and its a really nice place. There are ATV trails in the area, so maybe we'll have to get something set for a get together.

Best of luck w/ the new job K'

So does this mean you won't be returning to the lodge that you worked at last year Kim????

Congrats on the new 'home away from home'.... I am sure that your new employer doesn't even realize the potential business he's just gained by having an avid SW faithful on board like yourself... I assure you if I ever ride anywhere near the High Country, I'll stop in for a bite and a short 'Hello'....

Congrats to both of you, Kim & Brian.

Hopefully, come winter time you'll still be able to get out and enjoy everyone's favourite pastime.

...me too Pete. We made it up there the first day in Haliburton. Went up to Whitney and came back down through Lake St Peter. Unfortunately it ended up being a 170 mile day because we got lost coming back. That was the first day our wives had ridden in 2 years...nothing like jumping back in, eh?

Good for you XCR, keep a sharp eye on those roads. ;)
Well I worked my first night at The Lodge. I am impressed at how clean the place is everywhere. It is under new ownership and the hours are different. It is open to the public for eating Wednesday thru Sunday 8:00 am- 9:00pm. Monday and Tuesday it is open to lodge guests only. The resort will hold 42 people between the rooms and cottages. The food is homemade and delicious. Being homemade the specials are always changing and the desserts are scrumcious and definately not run of the mill desserts. The owners Steve & Tara are very nice, easy going people. I hope to see some of my SW brethren this summer if you are in the neighbourhood there are lots of things to do in the area. It has great ATV/dirtbike trails. Lots of hiking in Algonquin and there are lakes galore. But best of all, this location is known for its "SNOWMOBILER FRIENDLINESS". If I get a chance I will snap some pics tomorrow. Iam working Saturday and Sunday 8-1.
