Actually one of the magazines or tv shows questioned BRP on this subject ( can't remember which one right now ) and they stated that it has no official meaning as far as each letter standing for something. It is just two letters designating a chassis and that is all. Then again when the REV was first being designed and built it was called R.E.V. not REV which would tell you each letter stood for something but I've emailed them and checked with reps etc and it is unclear what R.E.V. ever stood for.

any of my readings haven't revealed an actual Ski-Doo meaning to the RT, although one magazine has labelled it the rapid transit.

I was just wondering those are pretty good but I was giving a name that was supposed to be the true one but cannot tell because it will give out future information on new sleds to come.

ok ok round two has just begun, thats the name but I will not give out any more infomation about that, my impression that I got from the guy was that there will be more round two sleds (rt chassie) comming out in the next year or two, What he told me about the sleds sounded relly crazy to me but I believe him, b/c he was riding the rev around 3 years before it was ever realsed

Why don't they get there heads out of the marketing and planning room and solve the engine problems, suspension calibration issues and put some decent bushings in the a-arms of the REV.

Just remember the REV was in the works for some 5 years before it's release. There were tails about odd looking sleds being riden around that part of the country well before the REV was released. It's a great way to get some seat time on a new style of sled but it doesn't mean you had to be a big fish to get a ride. Just had to be there and be close to the project at the time.

i don't know why anyone would be mad because Ski-Doo is building a new sled that outdates what we are riding now. this computer i am on is 2-3 years old and was an antique within a month after i bought it.

All I know is that these sleds sound sweet and too good to be true, he is also claming that if you send you cdi box or something back to this place that the rev 600 will easily have a f6 by 6-8 sled lengths, my buddy will be sending his 007 back to him this year soo we will see if there is any turth to this, Dont ask me about the place becasue I forget what he said but if I do find out I will post it for the rev guys,

Your dealer can bump up the timing a few deg. as well and you can run with the f6's but dobn't even think about running anything less than premium in it. Besides the F6 will walk it when the rings start to fail. I really couldn't care less if some on this site get pissed ( as they have in the past ) because i have an issue with the ROTAX engines. Too friggen bad. Far too many riders have had ring problems with there 600 H.O.'s and tones of people seen to window the block on the 800's etc. Personnally i have little personal experiance with the 800 only the 6's. The REV is a fabulous chassis but the 600 H.O. is a pile of crap. Rings last about as long as the a-arm bushings in the front of the REV. Sure it is getting fixed under warrenty but they will just fail again. They better hope this 1000SDI is not a pile of crap like the 600 H.O.'s.

Speaking of acronyms, let's have some fun. Who can be the first to tell me what the CK-3 chassis stands for? Here's an easy one - MXZX. How about the Z in the Cat Z sleds? Yamaha's old SRV? Cat's EXT? I won't even do any Polaris ones as theirs are so lame their receptionist must have come up with them!

a pile of crap like the 600 H.O.'s. Interesting opinon as it was voted Sled of the year by SW members. Rob maybe you should try one of the other brands that have no issues. LOL

Oh,

And count me in Rob's camp for the HO problems. Everyone knows about the junk rings and crank problems in those engines so why bother trying to sugar coat things? One of the reasons I went with Doo was because their engines were known to be more durable than Cat's while the Cat engines have more power per cc. I'll take durability over slight power advantages any day. The HO's are proving less durable than the new Cat's and that flat out pisses me off! But hey, don't take my word for it, just ask a sled shop what they think of the HO platform!!!

The sled itself may have been voted sled of the year by SW members but this site is and always will be somewhat biased towards Doo just like HCS is somewhat biased towards Cat. I never said the other brands never have issues. Look lets face it in the 90's Doo had great sled engines but they were in a chassis that was overweight and handle about as well as a dump truck. When the new milenium came around we got sleds that handled well ( the ZX chassis was killer ) and for the most parts the engine were not bad. This was great. Now we have another awesome chassis but the engine sucks. Ya sure you can pull the rings and replace with Bill's but when you spend $10,000 or more on a sled why should you have to ?

gman086
08-03-2004, 06:27 PM
Well Rob, they had to cut some corners to keep the REV under the 10 grand mark so the crank and pistons/rings were the first cheapened - LOL!

Hey, wasn't it Snowmobile Magazine that voted the Rev with the 600 SDI the sled of the year??? Does the SDi have better rings and crank? They really ripped on Doo for the pathetic HO engines in that mag too! Anyone know where I can get a fluid damper for my 800 HO that vibrates so &*&# much that the plug wires come off???

I'll take a REV chassis platform with a Cat engine with 900 RMK Polaris styling and the finish and all quality control from Yamaha with a max weight of 400 lbs for under 5 grand. Am I asking too much here? ;))

you're right for ten grand why should i/we have to ? i'm not happy about it neither. i'll take the bullet and keep my mouth shut.
