on last weekends ride my friend has an 02 zr 600 efi with about 320 miles on it. half way into the day the sled stopped and aroubd 4000 rpm it would miss and hessatate. you also could hear the fuel pump working hard. Towed it back, called the dealer and was told that cat found the tanks were getting shavings in the tank and plugging the filters. so we pulled the filters and cleaned them w/carb spray. worked good for 10 minutes and the problem was back. anyone else have this problem. Is it a problem with this machine and cat won't notify the owner? Yes its under warranty but he did loose 2 days riding. i haven't heard the fix yet but i will post it.

If you look in the cat forum There is post's on the subject and even a quick fix so you can still ride. It has to do with the regulator getting pluged and one guy tells how to fix it.

Look at the smart valve or fuel pump problems. All of the tanks have tons of shiney stuff in the tank. Reminds me of spearing northerns thru the ice and all of the egg shells on the bottom. Any way that stuff has nothing to do with why the machine won't run. http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif *http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif *http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif *http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif *http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif *http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif *http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif *http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif *http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif

My brother has a 02 800 efi and we had the tank off it the other day to look at the smart valves (look at some of the other posts for this problem). While looking in the tank noticed tons of metal filings. So cleaned it out as best as possible. Cleaned the smart valves and checked the proper function. Sounds like tons of other riders with these same problems. Hopefully AC will step up to the plate.
