a very nice fellow by the name of TurboAL off of the website snowest.com has made me a silencer for my 440. it's called a "thing" and is made in his shop in Revelstoke BC. i sent him some pictures of the stock silencer off my sled and he built this from the pics. this is just a prototype and he's gunna make the final adjustments and then they'll be for sale through his business!! this has a super aggressive sound to it and is gunna be one of the meanest soundin' 440's out there!! :) i wish we had snow so i could hear it at 8500 instead of 5000 in my garage :D

Pretty sick, i put a Jaws silencer on my 440, its so loud i need ear plugs to ride on the trails (which i do occaisionally). But when i bash or jump it sounds so nice, has a deep rumble at idle til 4500 then it screams!

Good luck with it, hopefully it doesnt mess with your motor like mine did!

ya, he said some jetting and clutching changes and it'll rip. i have a bad feeling about using it on the trails tho.... guess ill have to keep it down near populated areas. i think ill just use it for practicing on the tracks, and ditch bangin'. :hallo1:

what did it do to your motor dangey?

For my motor it just played with everything, i had to rejet, change my clutching around, and it seemed like it played with the timing almost, somehow i dont know it was wierd. Things were all screwed up. But i just took it off the end of the winter because i was getting headaches and i had more performance w/ the stock can/setup.

Chris

The 440's though as you know are very picky so they will do what they want and aggravate you till you get the perfect setup. Does that can by the way have anything to give the motor backpressure? This is one reason why mine messed with the motor because it was straight through and the race sleds need backpressure to make peak performance.

Though not a fan of loud exhausts... there is something strangely provocative about a little 440 screaming at full throttle... kinda makes me wonder why you'd want more?? :dazed:

it's one thing to have my little 440 beat on bigger sleds, but it would be kinda of nice having people think it's a lot bigger with the sound coming from it. :D we'll see how it goes with the set-up before i make a final decision. if it's gunna make it run like crap i wont leave it on. i need to find some grass to test it out.... anyone need some landscaping done??? :p

these 440's do have a very distinct sound with the stock can, but this can isnt like anything i've ever heard. i'm gunna see if he can make it a little quieter so my neighbours dont complain.

Racer, you run your sled a little in the summer? i'm having a hard time getting the jetting right for watercross... i have no faith in my sled because i'm afraid its going to bogg down... what jets you running? or anyone for that matter. Temps here are about 75-95F and stock jetting was at 350, i think i'm down to 290's or 280's but shes still not going good! it may be my clutches though too... i just want to get it to go good on the pond w/o having to worry about getting out there and letting off a little then hammering it and blah blah putt putt haha.

i was running 310's for pump gas and it ran absolutely flawless. i tried the race gas way with the high comp heads and i'm running 210's in it now (i think  ) and it would build up at low rpm's then would clear itself out so i still need to go lower on the jetting. gunna do the grass drag test & tune sometime before this sled goes back to see the H2O. :p the 310's i ran was the exact same set-up i used for late winter riding when the temps warmed up. i was surprised it ran as good as it did. so if the race gas doesnt work out ill stick with the pump gas set-up!!
