FYI, I learned the hard way that your waypoints are lost when you do an update. Unfortunately, I didn't have them saved in Mapsource. I think I tried to upload them before, but was unable to. Does anyone know if there is a trick to this?
Is there a way of getting an update of the maps themselves? There are streets, interstate exits, etc., in my area that have been in existence for a few years, that still do not show up on the gps.

Jim, I think the only way to get new maps is to buy them. Garmin obsoleted the R&R maps for something new (can't remember the name) maybe they are newer. I too have found some inaccuricies in the Garmin maps, the street that my in-laws live on is more than 300 feet (according to the GPS) from where it appears on the map.

I would recommend purchasing the Garmin City Select software. I have the R&R software too and City Select is much better.
The City Select has the road that my hunting camp is on. I can't beleive it's on there seeing it's on nothing but a dirt road in the middle of no where's.
Have you tried calling Garmin regarding you issue with you waypoints?

There shouldn't be a trick. I've never had a problem saving tracks or waypoints with Mapsource. Did you get an error message or did it simply not work?

I believe this is why Garmin wants you to buy new releases of their maps. They don't "fix" old maps like software companies "fix" older versions of software.
