: How Much Is My Track Worth
jeepster 07-27-2004, 05:30 PM hey guys,
I'm putting a 136x16x1.75" track on my gade this year and want to sell my other one whitch is 136x15x1.75. there is 1 lug missing and the rest looks new. It has 1300k's and thats like 1000k's off road. I'm just curious on how much I could sell it fore. If i'm not mistaking, it's about 750$ CDN new.
Thanks, Jean. SWRules
permafrost 07-27-2004, 06:45 PM First of all I am jealous, LOL. YOu dog. DO you think you need it? As you were highmarking summits as it was last year with the gade, he he. Sounds like mine, one lug missing. I would think that it is worth 250-400 CAD or USA funds. Put it on Ebay and be honest about the shape of track. I sold my stock 1" take off track from my 2001 MXZ X 800 on ebay and got almost $400USD. It helps if you try to sell in the fall too, as things go cheaper in the summer, it seems. If not at the very least Team renegade is prepared to pay to ship it out to HQ for an extreme regiment of testing.
jeepster 07-27-2004, 07:50 PM Thanks perm, what can I say, the gade kicks a$$ let's just say it's gonna be a small upgrade and I need it to complete my little sled makeover :undercover: :hallo1:
BTW, I've put asside over 4000$ for my sled makeover, so anything can go. Lets just say that i'm overhaulin' my own sled :p NOS anyone? w00t
RacerX408 07-27-2004, 09:04 PM well since there's 1 lug missing it's not worth anything. ill take it off your hands and throw u a nice crisp $100 bill. :D how does that sound?? $100 will get you a few refills of that go-go juice that i really want for my sled!!
gman086 07-28-2004, 03:51 AM Your swapping the same track for an inch width when all you have is one lug missing? You must have money burning a hole in your pocket Jeepster!
If you make the switch, why not get a 2" or 2.25" deep finger track?
Also I've heard of some sledders putting the 16"s on their Summits made for 15 with barely enough clearance. I'm just guessing but I'd think there would be serious track rub when powder carving? If someone has done it w/out any issues please post here as I need a new track (ALL the lugs are missing  ).

2stroke from ontario 07-28-2004, 07:21 AM the question i have is how many bones did the new track cost...?
i have to buy 2 new ones for next season.
tracksusa.com is where i will go.
check it out great prices cept if you gots to figure in exchange rate they still might be cheaper than north of the border.
fortunately the polaris track and the doo track are the same.
1" lug was $279 us full clips.
not bad if you compare it to dennis kirk pricing.
live long ride smartly
think cold thoughts it'll snow soon
lake effect rules if you dont have to shovel it
greetings from nys where summer hasnt started yet
jeep..... you keep doing them mods to your sled and you wont have to buy a new fusion to have the sweetest ride out there. lol
i have a couple buddies who ride doo, i'll check and see if they want a good used track. i know that one of them was planning on getting a deeper lug, i think maybe that 1.75 is maybe more than he wants to go though. I will see.
JasonF 07-28-2004, 07:37 AM I've got that track coming on my new X-gade this fall and thats whats creating the most anticipation :D w00t . Where are buying your track at, I have not seen the 16" wide track available like the 15"'s
jeepster 07-28-2004, 09:00 AM for all of you, the 2005 limited release gade and summits that has the 16" track have the same tunnel width as the 2004 sleds, so the track will fit. I don't think I can put a 2 or 2.25" track cause of the lack of tunnel clearence between the lugs and the cooling plates. I get my track at my dealer, I have a BIG order to make so the parts guy made me a 18% discount on everything. I think the track with be arround 800$. GO GO juice :lmao: I love the sound of that
permafrost 07-28-2004, 09:57 AM for all of you, the 2005 limited release gade and summits that has the 16" track have the same tunnel width as the 2004 sleds, so the track will fit.
WE measured a limited gade last compared to a normal Rev at the dealership and they are identical. There is no more problems with the track on your sled than on a summit or new gade. Just got watch for ice build up before you blast off in the mornings. A radiant heat floor in that new garage will take care of that.
gman086 that one extra inch of width makes that 136" track equal to a 144"in flotation.

nah, thats not my style, I would of given my track to someone if I had that much money. BTW, I alredy have tracks bolted in my double inclosed trailer.
gman086 07-28-2004, 07:06 PM >>gman086 that one extra inch of width makes that 136" track equal to a 144"in flotation. <<
I'm well aware of that perma! Which was my whole point: that extra area isn't that much (i have a 144) and certainly not worth ditching a perfectly good track for. In fact, the extra rotating mass could keep things equal for high-marking.
Out west the extra width would get wasted if you didn't have the paddles to back it up. I know of a few gade owners that went to 2" and never had a problem (so i'm told but maybe they dropped the driveshaft with a kit?).
G MAN
jeepster 07-28-2004, 07:12 PM G man, the problem of puting a 2" paddle is that it might not take trails to good. I allredy changed my plastic slides twice this year and I have only 1500k's on the sled.
gman086 07-28-2004, 07:29 PM Yes which is why i suggested the finger track that acts like a 1.5" but gives you more in the pow. If you rarely ride the pow i wouldn't even bother with your swap - you're only adding weight and rotating mass.
Have fun,
G MAN
jeepster 07-28-2004, 07:44 PM well, to get to the powder, I have to doo trails. I say I doo about 60/40 powder/trail. I prefer powder then trail, I jump in the deep stuff every chance I get  isn't that what sleding is all about :D :D
permafrost 07-28-2004, 11:00 PM In fact, the extra rotating mass could keep things equal for high-marking.
True, that brings up the age old argument of track speed VRs track size.. I would like to think that a 144"could go places that a 136 cannot. I guess alot of it has to doo with the Pilot.
gman086 07-29-2004, 01:06 AM >>I guess alot of it has to doo with the Pilot.<<
AMEN to THAT! I was helping several RMK and SKS riders out last year and I was on the REV, not my Summit even BEFORE I took off the beavertailfromhell. There are a lot of inexperienced powder riders out here that get in over their heads - LITERALLY!!!
G
PS - a couple other things to consider (tho I've never ridden a 16" track so i don't know for sure) but it would seem to me that a 16 would be harder to sidehill and lay the sled on side for powder carving?
swish 07-30-2004, 10:10 AM with a torn lug and that kind of miles on it ,it is worth $150 can ,not much but it is realy worth whatever you can get for it.
