revrnd 07-28-2004, 01:31 AM In the August issue of Ontario Out of Doors there is an ad for the Toronto Int'l Snowmobile ATV & Powersport Show (is that exotic car rentals?) :whatever: The show is again @ the Int'l Center on the weekend of October 29, 30 & 31.

BackInIt 07-28-2004, 01:38 AM So can we expect to get screwed again this year, or will people come to their senses and have Royal, and the manufacturers at one show?? Last year was pathetic, one show where you could buy what you need but they had no sleds, the other where you could see the new sleds but get screwed for buying stuff.
i really wanted to go to the show last year, but decided against it. This year i am thinking about driving the 14 hrs but if i cant see the new sleds, and buy some cool gear in teh same day. I'll stay home and order out of the catalogue.
Vintage Elan Guy 07-28-2004, 09:19 AM From what I can find out, it will just be one show this year but that is not official.
The Antique and Classic Snowmobile Club of Canada will have a display at the show again this year for anyone interested in some nice vintage iron..
An international snowmobile show in Toronto, of all places? Seems like an odd location.

From what I heard from a couple of people that were @ the Congress Center, there wasn't alot there. You could walk around in about 15 minutes. Some of the people that had paid to have a booth there were quite upset about the turnout.
BTW, the OFSC logo is on the ad.
If the 2004 'doo sleds @ the "other" show were like years past, they probably had the PROTOTYPE sticker on the windshield. You would think that in October they would have the final versions of the sleds to display.
As long as I can pick up my maps & chat w/ folks I've met over the years, I'll be happy.
RacerX408 07-28-2004, 11:45 AM i went to the one at the congress center and it was definetly a waste of time and money. :( looked at stuff that i had seen before, and there were booths there that had nothing to do with snowmobiling. the only good part was sitting outside watching the "kinda freestyle" show. the reason i say kinda is cuz there wasnt much going on. the guys werent feeling right about how the ramp was set up and they were just hitting it and not doing any tricks. jeez, set me up with some sponsors and free sleds and ill hit it too!! :D

Well there some of that @ the show @ the Int'l Center as well. Some outfit that rented exotic cars was there. What's that got to do w/ sleds?
I was checking out another site & people are grumbling that there won't be a OEM presence @ the Int'l show. They're worried the OEMs will have another show like they did in the spring. I don't think so. They probably learned that having a conflicting show is a waste of time. Besides, in this economic climate, marketing departments aren't throwing money away for little return.

Maybe they think that people who can afford to sled can also afford to buy exotic cars, :lmao:
ski-doorider 09-10-2004, 04:03 PM Not having the new sleds at the fall show to me isnt a big deal. Besides, almost everyone that is buying a new sled pretty much has either spring ordered or cut a deal by mid september. By the time the snowmobile show has arrived in the fall, most guy's already have their new sled in the garage or it's on the way.
Now the spring show that the manufacturers put on this past spring at the Toronto Congress center, in my opinion is by far the best place to see all the new iron and I look forward to going every year. Besides - it's free!!!!!, and all the latest and greatest for 2005 was there. Thats the way it should be.
SK1-D00R 09-12-2004, 08:54 PM What kind of deals do they have for clothing at the shows? I`m wondering if I should wait to pick up a DOO jacket? Will they have lots of sizes, and styles on display, or is it mostly dealers with catalogs?
Thx

MUSKOKA800 09-13-2004, 10:34 AM There's no mention of the Big Four manufacturers being at this show.
And to-date and to the best of my knowledge no other shows have been announced for Toronto.
Don't be surprized if the manufacturers do there own show like they did in the spring. Surely they won't just NOT show anywhere in TO this fall.
LadyK 09-13-2004, 12:49 PM Keep an eye out for myself,Permafrost, and Danr with SW stickers at the show Friday night. :)
IndySKS 09-13-2004, 05:09 PM The was a write up in the "Main Trail " that gets sent out to the Clubs but there is no mention of the big 4 makes , but it does say there will be only one show and it has been renamed and will be all under one roof. It also states there is an addition of other motor sports product that will be there....?
Sorry i can't scan it an put it all on here for everyone but I'm in the middle of renovations.
I guess we will have to just go on the on the weekend of Oct. 29-31 and see for our selves.
LadyK 09-14-2004, 07:11 AM Not sure as of yet, but quite possibly only Friday. You can still get an SW sticker as we will be leaving them with some of our friends with booths at the show.
